XpressBet Showdown is a two-day online handicapping competition in which players attempt to earn the highest cumulative mutuel totals based on single, $20 ‘live’ online win wagers on one horse in each of 10 mandatory races on Saturday, April 17 and Sunday, April 18—a total of 20 competition races ($400).
The top nine finishers in XpressBet Showdown will earn seats in the 2011 DRF/NTRA National Handicapping Championship in Las Vegas plus $500 for airfare and lodging.
The next four finishers in XpressBet Showdown will earn seats in Coast Casino’s 2011 Horseplayer World Series in Las Vegas, plus $500 for airfare and lodging.
Registration begins Wednesday, March 31. Showdown registration is limited to 300 players.
NHC Tour Points can be earned in Showdown.
Dates
• Two-day Tournament--Saturday, April 17 and Sunday April 18, 2010
Registration
• 50 qualifiers (25 from the Beat the Host Championship and 25 from XpressBet Live) will receive automatic complimentary registration in Showdown.
• Non-Qualified players must register for the competition online at www.xpressbet.com. Registration is open to XpressBet, DelMarBets.com and OakTreeBets.com account holders only.
• A $300 registration fee is required for non-qualified players. Registration fee is non-refundable.
• Registration opens Wednesday, March 31, 2010.
• Registration fee can be paid via the following methods:

• XpressBet Showdown is open to new and existing XpressBet account holders in good standing only.

Format
• Player must make a single, $20 ‘live’ win wager on one horse in each of 10 mandatory races each day—Saturday, April 17 and Sunday, April 18 (20 total mandatory wagers—$400).
• Player wagering accounts will be credited with winnings for all competition wagers and debited for all losing competition wagers.
• Track and race information for mandatory races will be available at www.xpressbet.com on the Showdown information page by 5 pm ET Friday, April 16.
• All competition wagers must be submitted via Contest Wager Pad. Wagers not submitted via Contest Wager Pad will not count in the competition.
• Wagers placed by telephone do not qualify.
• For Tournament scoring purposes mutuel payoffs on winning selections will be capped at 20-1 ($420).
• DO NOT CANCEL CONTEST WAGERS. Cancelled wagers will result in disqualification.
• Scratched horses count zero in the competition. If a player has submitted a Contest Wager on a scratched horse, player may submit a second single, $20 ‘live’ win wager on another horse in the race before the race is run. These wagers must be submitted via the Contest Wager Pad. For horses scratched moments before the race, please allow the tote time to process the scratched horse before submitting a replacement wager.
• Do Not Cancel Tournament Wagers. This will result in disqualification.
• XpressBet will periodically update a leader board following selected mandatory races.
Ties:
First Tie-breaker: The player with the highest winning mutuel payoff of all tied players will be ranked above the others. If a tie still remains, the player with the second-highest mutuel payoff of all tied players will be ranked above the others. This process will continue until the tie is broken.
Final Tie-Breaker: If two (2) or more players remain tied after the first tie-breaker procedure has been exhausted, the final tie-breaker will go to the player who chronologically is first to register for the tournament. If two or more players still remain tied and they advanced to Showdown via Beat the Host or XpressBet Live, the placing will go to the player who chronologically was the first to register for those respective qualifying tournament.
Prizes
Qualifying Seat Prizes
• First through Ninth-place finishers earn seats in the $1 million 2011 DRF/NTRA National Handicapping Championship in Las Vegas plus $500 for airfare and lodging.
• Tenth through 13th-place finishers earn seats in the estimated $1 million 2011 Coast Casino’s Horseplayer World Series in Las Vegas plus $500 for airfare and lodging.
• NHC Tour participants may earn NHC tour points.
Please Note: A single player may only win a maximum of one DRF/NTRA NHC qualifying seat during XpressBet’s 2010 Tournament Schedule. A single player may win more than one entry to the Coast Casino’s Horse Player World Series.
If a player, who previously has qualified for a DRF/NTRA NHC seat in any 2010 XpressBet handicapping tournaments, or in any other 2010 tournament, wins a duplicate seat to that tournament, the seat will go to the next highest qualified finisher and the awarding of tournament seats will be adjusted according to the standings.
All decisions are final.
