Enticed: The top-ranked horse in my Countdown to the Crown Preseason Annual, the Gotham winner and Wood runner-up hasn’t quite lived up to the promise he showed in Churchill Downs’ Kentucky Jockey Club. Still, he’s a quality colt with tons of pedigree and a classic-winning trainer Kiaran McLaughlin who has been second in the Derby. Don’t over-estimated the win over the track as the Fall Meet at Churchill has a loose and cuppy racetrack completely unlike the souped-up surface we’ll see on Derby Day. Still, it doesn’t hurt.
