The 35th annual Jim McKay Maryland Million will be renewed Saturday with 12 races on the docket, headed by the $150,000 Classic and recent Grade 3 Pimlico Special 1-3 finishers Harper’s First Ride and Cordmaker … Daily post times move up to 12:25 pm ET beginning with Thursday’s card for the duration of the meet, but note a special Saturday post for Maryland Million of 11:25 am to accommodate the 12-race card … Locally based Grade 2 winner Still Having Fun is back on the workout tab following a June layoff from his Grade 1 Carter sixth-place finish at Belmont.
The Stronach 5 paid $7144 last week to 14 tickets even with 3 winners at 5-2 or less. The Oct. 23 Stronach 5 will be comprised of the following races:

Leg B – Gulfstream Park West Race 9 with an approximate post time of 4:32 ET
Leg C – Laurel Park Race 9 with an approximate post time of 4:50 ET
Leg D – Santa Anita Race 3 with an approximate post time of 5:08 ET
Leg E – Golden Gate Fields Race 3 with an approximate post time of 5:25 ET

--Leading trainer Claudio Gonzalez had a highly profitable week with a 13: 3-3-1 mark that led to a $1.91 ROI for every $1 bet. A $43 winner Oct. 16 led to the big number.
--Trainer Hamilton Smith was on point with a 5: 2-1-1 record and $1.78 ROI for every $1 bet. His runners were 2-for-2 going a route distance.
--Jockey Katie Davis continues her high strike rate going 12: 4-0-3 on the week. Her $1.79 ROI for every $1 bet was bolstered by $12 and $24 winners for Anthony Farror.
--Favorites went 15-for-33 for 45% wins and 61% in the exacta.
