Yonkers Raceway has an 11-race card featuring Borgata and Matchmaker Consolations and Finals. The 0.50 Pick 5 with a $10,000 guaranteed pool rolls in Race 5. The $1.00 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 8, and it will be my focus.

Race 8 (9:20 PM EST)

2-Linedrive Hanover (8/5)-This is the 2nd chalk, and the ML favorite #4 Desperate Man (7/5) has won all 4 Borgata races rather easily. But with the post draw edge Scott Zeron should get the jump and push the Man one way or the other. Can’t really split the 2, so will go with the inside post draw, and the one that may have a bit more value.

Race 9 (9:40 PM EST)

4-Shine A light 2-1-Going with the Engblom-Bartlett combo and look to beat the slight chalk #2-Ocean Ridge (9/5). Should be blasting out and will rely on him getting the top without burning much gas.
6-Alex type 20-1-Alex probably won’t go off at 20-1 but this post draw will allow for a juicy price. Won the last time facing similar and takes a good drop after battling $50k claimers. Needs a hot pace, and if so, Dexter Dunn should have in range at the top of the lane.

Race 10 (10:00 PM EST)

2-Groovy Joe (3-1)-Drops back down to the same level of its last win on 3-26. Comes off 2 even efforts, one on a sloppy track and missed a start before the last race, both were against better. Looking for a big try tonight.
4-Seven Hundred (5/2)-The last 2 races against tougher have been good, coming a close 2nd and finishing 3rd. Scott Zeron has been keeping this 5-year-old inside. Should relish the company could benefit from an efficient trip.
6-Fulsome (10-1)-Gets a new pilot in George Brennan and should be forwardly placed in the 2nd start at this level. Can be competitive with this bunch and could surprise at a price.

Race 11 (10:20 PM EST)

2-Thrasher (3-1)-This 7-year-old is bet hard more often than it wins. Could be bet again and makes its 3rd straight start for a new stable. Hasn't been in the Capone barn recently and maybe the new connections will have the magic touch.
3-Urban Renewal (12-1)-Comes off a dull effort after missing a start. The veteran can be put in play with an inside draw. Zeron should get a close-up seat and could use a well-timed move to roll by at a big price.
4-Loorrim Lake A (2-1)-Makes its 1st appearance of 2024 at Yonkers and took a 152.2 mark there in 2023. Has taken 5 pictures in 19 starts at the Hilltop. Stayed flat in the last 3 Big M races and should be a player if minds its manners.
