Pompano Park has a compact 8-race card scheduled for Monday night. The popular 0.50 Pick 4 starts in Race 5. The sequence has a $15,000 guaranteed pool, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 5

3-When You Kiss Me (7/5)-Three-year-old facing older but has looked good in both lifetime starts. Should race near the top of the stack and be in the hunt at the wire.
5-Born Desire (5/2)-Has the speed to win and has found a spot to shine on the drop. Needs the right trip to be engaged and to not follow.

Race 6

1-In Secret (9/2)-Will use the team Miller entry over #2 the chalk, with Hennessey. Comes off a nice try from post 9 and likes the Pomp hitting the board in 10 of 12 with 4 wins.
5-Cantab Lindy (9/2)-Will need a top effort to take a picture versus this kind. But draws well and the Davis barn is batting 29% winners over the past 30 days. Could be overlooked at the windows and is worth a swing at a solid price.
9-Flagman (6-1)-Drops to the level of the last win which came from the 7 hole on 1-10. The post makes the price and Plano can work the right trip to score from out here. Likes the Pomp winning 6 of 11 starts.

Race 7

3-Max (4-1)-Hasn't been able to solve #7 yet but has the gate speed to land in the pocket. M1 invader hasn't connected at the Pomp (0-7) but is a trip-out candidate here.
7-Toys For You (5/2)-Plano should be blasting out looking to land on the point and not look back. That plan has been working versus this kind and could be posing for the 4th time in a row.

Race 8

1-Odds On Pick Six (7/2)-Steps-up on paper but shouldn't blush at this bunch. Comes off a very sharp mile in the slop and looks like the one to beat tonight.
3-Dealt A Winner (5/2)-Ten-year-old can't dial it up at will but this is the level where he can compete. Should have enough gate speed to be forwardly placed and might get the jump on the one above.
