It's closing night at Mohawk and there's a loaded card on tap. Top two and three-year-old pacers and trotters will compete in  Ontario Sires Stakes-Gold Super Finals. The eight stakes are handicapped below and all carry a $225,000 purse. To top off the 12-race card is a mandatory payout for the Jackpot Hi-5. That race will have a 12-horse field and a $3,000,0000 pool could be in the cards.

Friday's posted Pick 4 ticket at Mohawk connected in only three of four legs. Last night, drivers Louis Roy, Doug McNair and Ron Waples each made two trips to the winner's circle. Richard Moreau led all trainers with two victories.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 2

4 - Sorceress Seelster - Will take a swing and seek a better price. This gal is consistent and starts inside of main foes.

8 - Kadabra Queen - Winner of 4 of 9 should be the big favorite, with a dry track and best try could win again.

10 - Smoke And Mirrors - Will need a fast pace and then could grind it out. Tough spot but best to respect.

Race 3

3 - R First Class - Has been great at Mohawk all season and if trip is fair should come out on top again.

2 - Capteur De Reve - Best chance to upset #3 if less than his best. Last win is probably not a fluke, nice colt.

5 - LMC Mass Gem - Chances go up if can get to the top without much strain, otherwise unlikely to beat top two.

Race 4

10 - Yaris Bayama - The post makes the price and Filion is trustworthy, thinking this is the best and freshest horse.

6 - The Joy Luck Club - Winner of 13 of 21 and if the 21 starts haven't taken a toll, odds on favorite will be tough.

8 - Action Majesty - Toss last from 12 hole off the bench. Consistent and best to use if others have an off night.

Race 5

3 - Declan Seelster - Draws inside and that gives this colt a slight edge.

7 - Western Passage - McNair won last by 8 at Lon, Coleman trainee looks primed for a big effort.

2 - Jimmy Freight - Consistent winner, has scored in 7 of 11 and best to respect connections.

Race 6

3 - Draft Year - Cruised by 5 lengths in last and looks to be his race to lose but needs to mind manners.

8 - Levitation - Post compromises chances, best shot is on the engine or in 2 hole, needs a strong steer from McNair.

9 - T Barrr - Another who is usually in the hunt but needs to get in striking position and that may not be easy.

Race 8

3 - On A Sunny Day - Unless it's an off night, appears too good for this crew.

1 - Tymal Reign - This gal competes and if can stay on stride could add some pop to the exotics at a 12-1 ML.

4 - Winter Sweet Frost - Has faced tough customers and breaks at times, will respect but needs a top effort.

Race 9

2 - Kendall Seelster - 1st or 2nd in 9 of 10, and looks a cut above the rest again tonight.

8 - Lady Grande - Doesn't win often but is usually close. Recent form is good and could grind way onto the ticket.

5 - Percy Bluechip - Has tailed off but with a return to top form makes her a threat. Winner of >$300k this year.

Race 10

9 - Tymal Peacemaker - Liked last from 8 hole, should be tighter so will key and look to beat #6-5/2 ML chalk.

1 - Bills Fella - Rail may not help this slower starter but with good striking position should be in the hunt.

2 - Dreamfair BJ - Winner of 2 straight is a likely player again and can win a competitive affair.

Race 12 - Jackpot Hi-5 Mandatory Payout

1 - Rebellious - Will be my key in top 3 slots, was facing much better and should enjoy the company at a 10-1 ML.

8 - Toxicity - Another to use in top slots on the ticket, 8-1 ML has been rested and like chances to hit the board.

5 - Rollaroundtheworld - 2nd chalk 4-year-old, been facing better, form is good and could be posing for a picture.

3 - Preppy Art - Team McNair should make presence felt at 10-1 in the ML. Cheaper but recent form has been good.

4 - Dubious Claim - Will be a short price, has faced better and competes. Consistent and should be in the hunt.
