Saturday night's Hoosier Park card will feature colts and geldings competing in Breeders Crown elimination races. Like last night, races 3-6 are handicapped below and comprise the Pick 4 sequence with a $10,000 guaranteed pool.
Friday's selections saw my second-choice win Race 3. In Race 4, #8-Ella Christina lit up the board and paid $72.00, and wasn't on my radar. In Race 5 and Race 6 my top picks were odds-on favorites, and they won.
Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.
Race 3
5-Karpathian Kid-9 0f 10 in the money and rates a slight edge with a race over the track
7-Closing Statement-Broke in last, so maybe will be handled more cautiously but likes the track.
6-I'm A Big Deal-Racing well and should be up close in good striking position.
Race 4
4-Hannelore Hanover-Champ might be a bit weary and this isn't her favorite track, but still rates an edge.
5-Il Sogno Dream-Looking for a square price and winner of 2 straight steps up but can hit the board.
6-Mambo Lindy-Will toss last off a tough trip at Lexington, should be in the hunt tonight.
Race 5
5-Homicide Hunter-Forget last at Yonkers from 2nd tier and could be sitting a on big try at a square price.
7-Marion Marauder-2nd start after a rest and is another who could be ready to roll at a nice price.
4-Crazy Wow-Luke warm program chalk figures to be a threat but not sure if the long stretch suits.
Race 6
2-Missile J-Post draw may be the difference and can roll late as in 9/22 race at Hoosier.
6-McWicked-Similar to #2, should also like the long stretch, and short field should help chances.
5-Sintra-5/2 ML chalk is another who can gobble up ground late but will need a good trip.
