Yonkers Raceway has a 10-race program scheduled with the feature going in Race 9, an Open Handicap Pace with a $39,000 purse. The $1.00 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 7, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 7

1-Major Betts (7/5)-This 5-year-old finds a way to lose but versus this field from the rail it was tough to not include. Short price and only 2-23 at YR isn't a good combo but should be in the hunt.
2-Rolling With Sam (3-1)-Claimed by Alexander on 6-6 and has not done much since in 3 starts. Does best work racing near the top of the stack and with this post draw should follow that plan.
5-Real Peace (5-1)-Has won at this class on 6-20 and Bartlett takes a seat tonight. This Burke trainee may wake up for another picture with a new set of hands.

Race 8

3-Pyro (7/2)-Winner of 13 in 50 starts at YR has enough gate speed to drop in the pocket behind #4. Came 2nd in last to a well-meant winner at this class and could surprise with a favorable trip.
4-Hellabalou (9/5)-Sweet Lou 4-year-old has won 2 straight, steps-up and still deserves respect. Started the year slowly and looks like he has shaken off the rust.

Race 9

6-Splash Brother (8-1)-Looking for a price in this leg and looking for an aggressive steer by Buter. Should be able to land in a good early seat and could surprise, YR record is (29-7-10-2)
7-Funatthebeach N (6-1)-Thinking a few will be leaving and that should ensure the pace will be lively. That's the recipe for success for this Gillis trainee. Best to respect, closed in a hurry last week.

Race 10

1-El Jacko N (9/2) -The Yonkers 0-12 record is cause for pause but could make the most of this post draw and be put in play early on. Cashes checks at this level and may finally seal the deal.
3-Forever Fav (7/2)-Rallied to win off .57 opening half and now is in a spot to get the lead and make every call a winning one.
