The Meadowlands has a 13-race card scheduled for Hambletonian Eve. The 0.50 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 10. The sequence has a $50,000 guaranteed pool with a 15% takeout, and it will be my focus.
Xpressbet/1st Bet account holders, tonight is the last chance to register for a $40 Hambletonian Feeder Tournament featuring races from the Meadowlands. Don't miss an opportunity to win seats for the Saturday, August 6, $300 Hambletonian Challenge + Cash.
Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.
Race 10
2-Shiekh Yabooty N (8-1)-Left for the lead in last and the 54.4 half took its toll. Dunn is back aboard, will look for a more efficient trip and a move to sweep by down the lane.
4-Atomic Blast N (2-1)-Gingras will be between the pipes instead of Boyd and that should work. Has been in good form and comes off a nice win versus this kind. Looks like a major player at a short price.
6-Tuxedo Bay (3-1)-This is another in sharp form but couldn't catch #4 last week. Figures to be in the hunt again and has won 8 of 43 at M1.
Race 11
3-Need Ur Opinion (8/1)-Will look for some value and this will be the 1st M1 start for this PcD invader. The LeBlanc barn is posting 30% winners over the last 30 days, fits with this crew and Tetrick takes the lines. There isn't a standout in the field and should get a good trip.
6-So Irresistible (6-1)-Finished 3rd last week but did roll the back half in .54. There should be an honest pace and will look for AMac to be in striking range at the top of the lane.
8-Balance (3-1)-The post is an issue, but this looks like a soft spot. It would not be a shock if Gingras takes the point early on and doesn't look back.
Race 12
7-Finn Palema (5/2)-Has cashed nice checks versus better and drops to the level of the last win on 6-24. Svanstedt has enough gate speed to get a good early seat and looks like the one to beat. Faded in last but was off 3 weeks before that start.
Race 13
2-Hendersen Seelster (6-1)-Drops to a better level for success. Looks to be in the hunt at a solid price if minds manners.
3-Shinkansen (9/2)-Besides the one below there isn't much gate speed in this group. Dunn should be leaving but the key for success is stealing a quarter or two. Basically, that happened for the same pilot on 7-3 versus this kind and it was the last trip to the winner's circle for this 5-year-old.
7-Timestorm (7/2)-Should enjoy the company and can flash some early speed. My take is Sears will leave and could drop into the pocket behind #3 and take a swing down the lane.
