Yonkers Raceway has a 9-race card scheduled. The $1.00 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 6, and the sequence will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 6

2-Tesla Seelster (12-1)-Longshot has raced only twice at YR and last week showed a good closing kick with a .56 last half to come 3rd. Drops and there isn't a true standout in this field. If Smith can get off the gate in good position this mare could surprise.
4-Memo (5/2)-Has hit the board in 6 of 10 here with 2 wins and raced better than the line looks on 8-12. Missing a start may help and was pace compromised last time by a sharp drive on the winner and had to come 1st over.
6-Barry Black (15-1)-Raced evenly versus better in last and could be a threat versus this bunch. Looking for Holland to leave and be forwardly placed throughout.

Race 7

2-Ship Wreck Beach K (3-1)-This is only the 3rd start at YR and has hit the board once. Does come into this race in good form and likes to compete. Paced the 2nd half in 55.1 in last and has the gate speed to race near the top of the stack this time.

Race 8

3-Torkil (3-1)-Has been searching for a spot to take a picture and may have dropped far enough for that to happen. On 7-2, finished the best it has in months versus similar and lost by a neck that night with the same pilot between the pipes.
7-Cavalier George (20-1)-Should be a large price and willing to take a swing Holland leaves hard and finds a good seat. Has only 1 win in 16 tries this year but could make a big splash if minds its manners.
8-Brownie (20-1)-Another Philly invader that fits with this bunch and offers a big return. Might have the best gate speed in the field and Dube may put the pedal down and hope for the best.

Race 9

2-Desire's Captain (4-1)-Makes the 4th start at this level for the Temming barn since being claimed and this could be the best chance to seal the deal. Needs a trip and seems to race better near the lead and both can happen tonight.
4-Better Up (6-1)-Tossing last from the 8-hole and has the gate speed to get a close-up seat. Could get a suck-around trip at a solid price.
5-No Better Joy (9/2)-Will swing against #8 the 8/5 program chalk who has won 3 straight. The veteran is the only recent winner at this level but starting outside has not worked well for the Alexander trainee. This Auciello 4-year-old draws well and may prove to be up to the challenge at a square price.
