Northfield Park has a 15-race card on tap with the features going in Race 2 and Race 10, both Open Handicaps with an $18,000 purse. The $1.00 Early Pick 4 starts in Race 2, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 2

3-Crisp Mane (5/2)-Wasn't driven aggressively off the gate and closed nicely after being boxed in 5th on the rail. The trip should change with Wrenn taking the lines, and that could be a winning difference.
6-Plzdontlietome N (7/2)-Comes off a gutsy win after being parked out for 3/4's of mile and grinded it out. That start came after a sick scratch and Lems takes over for Myers as he steers #1. NFLD debut was perfect, will look for another strong try and will fade the 9/5 program chalk #5.

Race 3

2-Jogging Sweets (2-1)-Tried a new plan, got on the engine, and almost wired the field. This mare likes the track (26-8-2-5), and Miller has won 28% of his drives. Should race near the top of the stack again.
3-Herecomescharlie B (5/2)-This 5-year-old was on my ticket last week and fell a neck short of making every call a winning one. The owner/trainer steers again and will look for another big try.

Race 4

3-Bowery (4-1)-Returned to Nfld, drew the 7-hole versus this kind and took the long way around. Will toss that start and look for much better leaving from post 3. This sophomore is usually in the hunt and could be sitting on a big try.
4-Future Ex-Wife (2-1)-Merriman takes the lines for Davis Jr who got on the point and was never headed versus this kind last week. Looking for the same game plan and if the 1st half rolls in only .57 it could be picture time once again.

Race 5

1-Fashion Chocolate (3/2)-Should have an edge if minds manners but not feeling the 3/2 morning line for this 10-year-old. Could be the best, and will respect but will look to the one below for more juice in the Pick 4 payout.
7-Sheswildnfree (9/2)-Broke in the 1st start for the Rhoades barn and went off as a big chalk. Merriman sticks and should be better in the 2nd Nfld start. May leave and land on top or in the pocket behind the one above.
