Yonkers Raceway begins the week with a 9-race program. The $1.00 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 6, and the sequence will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 6

2-Maximus Red A (7-1)-Holland provided a sharp steer and was able to roll by at 26-1 after needing to go 3-wide off stalled cover. Comes back versus the same kind and has enough gate speed to be in striking range turning for the wire again.
3-Ozone Blue Chip (5/2)-Form had tailed off but had a better effort on 11-1 to cash a 2nd place check. Might be over bet because Gingras will steer. Should be handled aggressively and is a threat to take top honors.
5-Smokin By N (9/2)-Might land on the point but if not should get an early close-up seat. Won at this class 2 back and knows how to seal the deal posting 8 wins in 36 starts this year.

Race 7

1-Pretty Handsome (2-1)-Form has been dull since dropping to this level 2 back. This might be a wake-up call as Gingras takes a seat. Could be sitting just behind the one below and then look to brush by down the lane.
3-Mike's Z Tam (3-1)-Beat better at Philly and looks like a main player. The last win here came at this class and the previous race was at Philly. Lachance will likely be looking to get the top after the wings fold.

Race 8

2-Odds On Capitalism (2-1)-Took on older at this same class last week and came up with a sharp win. Stratton got the most out this 3-year-old and could be even better in the 2nd race on this oval. Was off 15-days between starts and comes back in sequence tonight.
4-Always And Again (3-1)-Drops back to a more comfortable level, racing versus Open Handicap company in 2 of the last 3 starts didn't end well. Now in at the same class as 2 back, just missed by a neck that night, and usual pilot Bartlett returns to do the steering.

Race 9

1-Mach Doro A (2-1)-Got on the engine from the 6-hole but was used hard to get there and it took its toll down the lane. There isn't much gate speed in the field and shouldn't have to buzz a sub-.27 quarter to get the top.
3-Tin Roof Raider A (4-1)-There is no denying the 1-17 record this year raises doubts but has consistently cashed checks versus $40k claimers. Comes off a big try, had little help following dull cover and had to go wide but finished a nice 2nd. The Erv Miller barn is starting to wake up, so best to respect.
