Al Cimaglia: Yonkers Raceway Late Pick 4 Analysis | Monday, November 21, 2022

Yonkers Raceway begins the week with a 10-race card. The feature is carded in Race 8, an Open Handicap Pace with a $33,000 purse. The $1.00 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 7, and the sequence will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 7

1-Play The Field (7-1)-Ships in from PcD, has been facing $30k claimers and was claimed in the last 2 starts. Has hit the board in 25 of 61 with 5 pictures. This is a tough race to read, but the Adamczyk barn has been hot, and the 10-year-old should get a good early seat. The price should be right to take a swing.
4-Keystone Dash (3-1)-Was claimed off a winning streak on 8-26 for $25k and then claimed the following week for $40k. Raced well for 2 races and hasn't cashed a check in the last 4 starts. Drops and this might be wake up time.
5-Lyons Johnny JNR (3-1)-Dropped to this level on 10-31 and shook loose late to rally for 3rd. Could be over bet, has been camera shy, and has missed time. But this is a scattered group and Kakaley should have him in striking range.

Race 8

2-Oakwoodnitownit IR (5-1)-Came a close 2nd when dropped to this class but was off 19-days before the start. Gingras knows how to put the pedal down. He also knows how to steal a quarter, and if so, should be difficult to beat.
7-Leonidas A (9/2)-Back on home base and at the level that usually helps to pad his bankroll, this veteran is a player if fully engaged. With the one above and some others with gate speed the pace could be quick and that should help this 7-year-old.

Race 9

1-Deetzy (8/5)-Bartlett takes over for Holland who got on the engine and then walked to the half in 58.3 to win last week. That type of pace shouldn't happen this time but the 10-year-old usually is in the hunt at this class and the post draw should help.
5-Flow With Joe (4-1)-Started from the 8-hole and was beaten by #1 in last. Did dial it up with a 55.2 back-half but the dull pace hurt chances. Siegelman should be in striking range around the last turn and could offer a square price.

Race 10

2-Brackley Beach (3-1)-Winner of 2 straight gets an inside post draw again, and should not be overlooked. Boyd could land in the pocket and take another picture at a short price.
7-Mach Doro A (9/2)-Dube has been aggressive in the last 3 starts at this level. This race could set up nicely for the 11-year-old. Has a good chance to land on the point if dialed on high, and should offer a fair price.
