Yonkers Raceway begins the week with a 10-race card and a $10,000 guaranteed pool for the Pick 5 that starts in Race 5. The $1.00 Late Pick 4 begins in Race 7, and the sequence will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 7

3-Feelin Western (3-1)-Has finished 2nd to the well-meant winner Ozone Blue Chip in the last 2 starts. Stratton should be able to work a nice trip from this spot, and the 4-year-old has booked 10 wins so far in 2022 so it's best to not overlook.
4-Whitecookie (4-1)-Steps-up after a drop and pop win in last. Was bet and did come up with a sharp effort going the back half in 55.3. Has proven the ability to be beat the 75K claimers so fits here and can get the top off the gate.

Race 8

3-Nandolo N (5/2)-Trip dependent veteran could benefit from a fast pace and if #5/#6 leave that could be the case.
4-Maximus Red A (9-1)-Similar to the one above except had a big win on 11-7 and then was scratched sick. Came back last week with a decent effort in a needed race. Should offer a good price in a competitive affair.
5-Dragon Said (2-1)-Comes off a big try from post 8 to just miss in the 2nd start off the bench. My guess is all systems will be go and should either land on the point or in the 2-hole.
6-Buddy Hill (4-1)-Buddy drops from facing Open Handicap company and would be a strong choice if drew inside. Can still win from out here, and the price will be better. Kakaley has gate speed to work with and will probably have the pedal down when the wings fold.

Race 9

3-Change Stride N (4-1)-This 11-year-old has booked over $158k this year and has cashed checks in 2 of the last 4 versus $40K claimers. He was snagged at that price on 10-31 and now is in for $30K. Maybe it's best to not overthink this one and simply use.
4-Lyons Johnny JNR (7/5)-Comes off 2 wins at this level and both times benefitted from nice trips. This isn't a very deep group and deserves respect for the possibility of another picture.

Race 10

2-Barbados (9/5)-Short price chalk should be tough to beat. Comes off a win and another sharp effort and the Bako barn is batting 44% winners over the last 30 days.
5-Sheriff N (3-1)-This 8-year-old is frequently claimed and makes its 1st start for the Choate stable. Can beat the one above if lands on the point off the gate without having to battle too hard.
