Al Cimaglia: Meadowlands Late Pick 4 Analysis | Saturday, January 14, 2023

The Meadowlands has a 14-race program scheduled for tonight. The 0.50 Early Pick 4 starts in Race 6. The sequence has a $50,000 guaranteed pool with a 15% takeout, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 6

1-Ario Hanover (3-1)-Got the point from post 10 last week and made every call a winning one. Really no reason the plan will change here and the outcome could very well be the same.
7-Unsung Hero (9/2)-Mohawk invader has hit the board in 2 of 5 starts at the Big M with 1 picture. This 4-year-old has won 7 of 21 and if the one above falters down the lane the Daniels trainee can roll by off cover at a square price.

Race 7

6-Dontlikeitleave (3-1)-Went off at 8/5 versus this kind and made it look easy in last. This will be the 3rd start in sequence since taking a few weeks off and looks like a main player again.
7-Boiler Maker (7/2)-Stratton worked a nice trip and the post time chalk didn't disappoint. Has hit the board in 3 of 5 at M1 and took 2 pictures. Has been in good form since the beginning of November and deserves respect here.

Race 8

1-Pick A Genre (6-1)-Was claimed from Jenn B on 11-19 and hasn't accomplished much for Engblom since. This will be the 4th start for the new barn and the only time coming back in sequence. Will take a swing for a price and look for better, did beat similar here on 11-19.
3-Stonebridge Reef (3-1)-Gets post relief, 2nd time Lasix, comes right back and doesn't bump heads with Ario Hanover who was a well-meant winner. Has been no worse than 3rd in 4 of the last 5 and finished 2nd in 3 races. May have met a beatable field.

Race 9

2-Hestherightstuff (6-1)-Bumps up after running the field down with a .56 last half to just get up in time. Seems to have a nose for the wire winning 14 of 33 lifetime and has posted 3 victories in 19 starts at M1. Comes back in sequence after being off a month before winning on 1-7.
3-Revolver N (9/2)-Raced well to finish a close 3rd after being off 3-weeks between starts. Comes back to face the same kind, and should be a threat if Beckwith does his job.
6-Chaser Hanover (8-1)-Mark Mac had the pedal down leaving from post 9 in a needed start and finished a close 5th at 45-1. Has the gate speed to race near the top of the stack and then look for one nice move down the lane to take a picture at a price.
