Cal Expo has a 9-race card scheduled and the 0.20 Pick 4 starts in Race 6. The sequence has a $25,000 guaranteed pool with a 16% takeout, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 6

1-Nebble Hanover (2-1)-Faded in a quick mile last week and lands in a soft spot here. Obviously not the same horse that banked over $87k last year but should be a major player tonight.
2-Bunkerhill (3-1)-Has been trying since being scratched injured 2 starts back. Last time wasn't able to compete with the 2 that finished ahead, and they aren't in this field. But still went the back half in 56.2 and could take a picture versus this bunch.

Race 7

3-Brooklyn Moonshine (8/5)-Was used hard at the beginning of the mile versus better and couldn't cash a check. Won versus similar 2 back at 7/5 and the same could happen here.
6-Outlawburntpopcorn (6-1)-Slow fractions didn't help last time, and this race may have more early speed. If that is the case the veteran's chances of winning go up and should be a solid price.

Race 8

1-Brooklyn Wind Up (6-1)-Willing to toss last, started poorly and Plano wasn't steering, but he returns to drive his own here. Should race close to the leaders, could get sucked around and finish fastest of all.
6-Biggiessecondshot (2-1)-Comes off a game win, was used a couple of times and battled down the lane. Has been off since 4-7 and did beat #5 that night. Not liking the short price but will respect chances.

Race 9

1-Helen's Girl (9/2)-Looking for a decent price and the arrow lands here. This 8-year-old is the only horse in the field that shows a win this year. Kennedy could get a nice cozy trip and if the leaders have a bumpy journey this gal could roll by.
3-Anotherblazinwoman (7/5)-This mare has had a rough year, 0-7 and losses that haven't been close but should relish the company. Has improved in the last 2 starts and might be ready for an overdue win. Hoping the upswing continues and goes off at a better price than the morning line.
