Saturday’s Sunshine Millions Preview is the top card during the Gulfstream West season, and it’s an inviting card from top to bottom, especially the late Pick 4. The first three races of the sequence are stakes races and the anchor is a good claiming race.
The Preview Day includes seven stakes worth more than $700,000 and is the prime plum on the GPW schedule, which wraps up on Nov. 26. The stakes races are a precursor to Sunshine Millions Day on Jan. 20 at Gulfstream Park.
Gulfstream Park’s Championship Meet begins on Dec. 2 but some of the horses that will run during the lucrative stand have already arrives, including some top-notch Florida-breds that will take part on this card.n
The late Pick 4 including stakes for fillies and mares, 2-year-olds and proven older horses. I’m attacking with a 4x2x3x3 strategy. The 9th race – the Juvenile Fillies Turf Stakes – is approached with the most certainly, as Sunshine Treasure and Homemade Salsa are the hopes on this ticket. The two other stakes races in the sequence are a little more competitive. The Millions Distaff Stakes kicks off the group in the 8th with plenty of possibilities. Mama Joyce comes off a big win, but Eva London, Sweet Khaleesi and Lirica also are proven commodities in the division.
The Millions Classic Preview in the 10th is another good one, as Zipping, Richard the Great and Mr. Jordan are used here. Zipping isn’t quite as accomplished as some of these but is in great form and returns to the main track. Richard the Great and Mr. Jordan have run well in the area and will get plenty of support.
Gear Jammer, Weeza Gone Gray and Albert Charles are claimers that will made for a competitive event in the finale. Albert Charles is the price inclusion and seems to fit well with these.
Here’s the suggested Pick 4 ticket:
Race 8: #1 Eva London, #5 Sweet Khaleesi, #7 Mama Joyce, #11 Lirica. (1-5-7-11)
Race 9: #1 Sunshine Treasure, #7 Homemade Salsa. (1-7).
Race 10: #2 Zipping, #5 Richard the Great, #7 Mr. Jordan. (2-5-7)
Race 11: #6 Gear Jammer, #7 Weeza Gone Gray, 11 Albert Charles. (6-7-11).
50-cent Pick 4: 1-5-7-11 with 1-7 with 2-5-7 with 6-7-11 ($36).
