Northfield Park begins the week with a 15-race card. The $1.00 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 11. The sequence has a $10,000 guaranteed pool with a low 14% takeout, and it will be my focus.

Race 11

3-Carolina Beach (3-1)-Beat this kind last week with a huge effort battling 1st over before pulling away. Will respect chances for a repeat and might get an easy lead off the gate this time.
5-One Last Laugh (9/2)-Can compete against this company with a good trip. Landing here looking for a solid price. Hoping Myers has the 6-year-old in striking range, so can pick up the pieces in the late going if the pace is hot.

Race 12

3-Kneedeep N Custard (3-1)-Comes off an even effort versus similar but was off 4 weeks between starts and was scratched sick on 4-16. Could get the lead off the gate and not look back if 100% tonight.
5-Nvrfearlloydishere (5/2)-Merriman doesn't need to land on the point to win but should be in striking range with this post draw. Raced well at this class from post 8 last time and will look for another strong try with post relief and a driver change.

Race 13

4-Just Bookem (8/5)-This veteran has gotten very camera shy this year and is only 1-15. Not crazy about the short price but with this post draw and with a good drop in class it's best to respect. Wrenn has the gate speed to use to be forwardly placed.
7-Lord Anthony (7/2)-The Meadows shipper has raced at Nfld only once, and it was against better. This will be the 5th start on Lasix and so far, it hasn't helped much. That could change here, can be a player versus this kind.

Race 14

5-Joggingtothebank (2-1)-Gets some needed class relief and should land on the point without using up much gas. Sugg can get control and steal a quarter which could lead to the 3rd win in 9 starts this year.
7-Best Time Hanover (6-1)-Fits with this kind and could surprise if Merriman works a sharp steer. Was dull in the last start but was off 20 days between races. Will look for better and hope the Oliverio trainee isn't over bet.
