ARCADIA, Calif. (Nov. 27, 2017) — With longshots dominating the early action on Sunday, a sizeable Pick 5 carryover of $43,854 awaits fans at Golden Gate Fields this Thursday.

With 38 horses entered in Thursday’s Pick 5, average field size stands at 7.6 horses per race. As there is no live racing at Golden Gate on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, track officials project Thursday’s total Pick 5 pool could easily exceed $250,000.

The popular 50 cent Pick 5, which has a low takeout rate of 14 percent, is offered on the first five races on a daily basis at Golden Gate Fields.
