Woodbine Mohawk Park has a star-studded night of Grand Circuit Racing on tap. The headliners are the Maple Leaf Trot and the Canadian Pacing Derby. My focus will be on the 0.20 Late Pick 4 that starts in Race 9. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 9 (10:24 PM EST)

2-Tuscan Prince (3-1)-This was Louis Roy's choice over #8 and is a player if minds its manners. Roy won't be able to march to the half in 57.2 this week. Will need his best race to win and that could be coming in this spot.
7-Osceola (8-1)-Had no trouble dismissing Gold company and will look for some value in this leg. This team McNair pupil will make you sweat for your money but should be there at the wire if keeps trotting.
8-Gaines Hanover (9/2)-This Moreau trainee returns to his favorite track where he posted all 5 of his wins. If the pace gets crazy hot this son of Cantab Hall could finish fastest of all.

Race 10 (10:47 PM EST)

6-Bythemissal (6/5)-Using the term mortal lock is something an experienced horse player usually avoids. But in this case the Ron Burke trainee has been at another level. If 100% it would take an awful trip to stop this 4-year-old from posting his 4th straight win. This is more a question of how fast he will go, rather than if a picture will be taken.

Race 11 (11:10 PM EST)

1-Lawless Shadow (5-1)-Ships back from PEI, lands in a soft spot and looks like a value play at the morning line price. Has taken 8 pictures in 37 starts at Mohawk and could beat this crew if dialed on high for the 1st start back in town.
3-No Free Lunch (7/2)-This race could have some hot fractions, and that will be needed for the Thestable.ca entry to catch the speed. JMac steers and he knows how to put a horse in position to win turning for the wire.
6-Rockabilly Rebel N (4-1)-Ships in from Chrtn, makes his debut at Mohawk and this will be the 1st start in the Moreau barn. Paced in sub 150 miles this summer at HoP and will take a swing the 6-year-old is sitting on a big try.

Race 12 (11:33 PM EST)

2-Nautical Hanover (4-1)-Beaten even money favorite dropped and couldn't catch the winner. Comes back versus the same kind, draws the same post and JMac sticks. Facing some who are dropping but has a shot and will be a much better price.
3-Highlandbeachlover (3-1)-Drops to a spot to shine but needs to avoid a tardy start. Drury should have this veteran on his toes and should be in the hunt at the wire.
5-Century Heineken (5/2)-Like the one above this dropper should relish the company. Didn't make the most of a pocket ride in last but McNair can work a cozy trip again with a better result.
