The Friday feature at Woodbine rolls in Race 8, when seven preferred pacers do battle. The fillies and mares will compete for a share of a $30,000 purse. The Early 0.20 Pick 4 begins in Race 4 and it will be my focus.  It's a competitive sequence and I'm leaning toward trying a few prices to get rewarded on a $38.40 investment.

On Thursday, Bob McClure was the driver with the hottest hands at Woodbine bringing home three winners. All ten races were won by different conditioners on a chalky night. 

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 4

3 - Diamondtoothgertie - Looking for a price and gets needed post relief in a competitive affair.

5 - Teachers Vet - Not crazy about the price off a layoff but was McNair's choice over 2 others.

7 - Katies Gal - Steps up after a sharp win from the 8 hole on the engine in a race with hot fractions.

10 - Party Beach - McClure steers and will need to work a good trip, if so could surprise at a square price.

Race 5

2 - Walk Two Moons - Beat similar off a jewel of a trip. The win came off a layoff so will respect at 7-1 in the ML.

3 - American Cheer - Missed a start but drops, gets post relief and fits better against this group.

8 - Leaving A Legacy - Likes to win, has been in town for a few weeks and looking for a big try.

Race 6

2 - Lady Caterina - Two recent efforts from the outside were good and now gets post relief at 10-1 in the ML. 

3 - Its Huw You Know - Only 1 win this year and last was better, now makes 2nd start on Lasix.

4 - Jet Pedia - 1-33 but this could be the spot for a picture. Can't leave out but at 3-1 in the ML will look away too.

6 - Streamsong - Has been off form but could be a wake-up spot versus a soft field, has won over $63K in 2017.

Race 7

1 - Dawn Shooter - Didn't fire in last but has been bet down in 2 straight. Will use at 10-1 in 4th start since a layoff.

5 - Chickie Love - Drops for high % trainer and driver, now makes 3rd start on Lasix and has won 7 of 17 this year.

6 - Bad In Paradise - Picks up Roy after being rested and having 2 qualifiers, has beaten this kind in the past.

8 - Every Time - Only 1 win in '17 but has been coming close. McNair tries again versus a beatable field.
