Hoosier Park begins the weekend with a 15-race card. The headliners are Breeders Crown Elimination Races. The 0.50 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 12, and the sequence will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 12 BC Elimination for 2-year-old colts and gelding pacers (10:06 PM ET)

1-Booming Economy (5/2)-Made a switch on 9-16 from the Nancy Takter barn to Ron Burke and has won the only start with the new conditioner at Lex on 10-7. Gingras will look to control the mile and should be there at the wire if takes to the Hoosier Park surface.
2-Martz Telly (6-1)-This is another from the Burke stable, but this freshman has a home field advantage winning 6 of 9 at Hoosier Park. Ronnie Wrenn does the steering and should be on the point or behind the rail horse. We know this price shot knows his way to the wire down the long stretch.
7-Boston Rocks (3-1)-Just missed in 2 Red Mile starts, losing each time by a neck. This Elliott pupil is the leading money earner banking over $340,000 and has hit the board in 10 of 11 with 4 pictures. Makes his HoP debut and should be a main player.

Race 13 BC Elimination for 2-year-old colts and gelding pacers (10:27 PM ET)

3-Magnifico Hanover (3-1)-This will be only the 6th start and has taken 4 pictures. Wins have come at 4 different tracks and has won on big ovals. Cote Keim trains and owns while Brian Sears has steered in the last 2 wins at the Red Mile. So far so good, and looks like a bargain at a $50,000 sales tag.
4-Captain Albano (2-1)-The Captain has won 6 of 7 and the lone loss came following a sick scratch when he finished 2nd. This is a handy horse with big speed and looks like the one to beat.

Race 14 (10:48 PM ET)

2-Big Chief Arrow (6-1)-Was scratched sick on 9-21 and was off over a month between races. Finished 3rd versus this kind in the first start off the bench last week. This 5-year-old does good work at HoP, and could be better after a needed start which makes him a threat.
3-Ima Real Ladys Man (5/2)-There isn't much gate speed in this race. The Stewart trainee races from the back and can close in a hurry. If there is a lively pace chances go up, and hopefully won't be over bet. Willing to use because there should be honest fractions.

Race 15 (11:09 PM EST)

1-Mystic Melissa (3-1)-Team Putman entry has been facing better and this 3-year-old could be up to the challenge of facing some older foes. Leaving from the rail shouldn't hurt, will look for a cozy trip and to roll by down the lane.
2-Hotshot Betsy (10-1)-This mare is camera shy but should be a large price and has been facing better. Willing to take a swing with this trip-out candidate in a race without a standout.
8-Plan To Tell (9/2)-This 3-year-old has been battling some tough foes and facing some older horses at this time of year may not matter. Gets a new set of hands in Tim Tetrick. Could finish best of all and will look for an aggressive drive.
