Al Cimaglia: Meadowlands Late Pick 4 Analysis | Saturday, November 11, 2023

The Meadowlands has a 14-race card featuring New Jersey bred two-year-olds. The 0.50 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 10. The sequence has a $50,000 guaranteed pool with a 15% takeout, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 10 (10:05 PM EST)

3-Art Scapping (3-1)-This is a Joe-Jenn entry and Jordan Stratton gets the call. Comes off a nice win, left from the 7-hole and got an efficient trip. This is a hodge podge group, should get a smooth steer and looks like a main threat at a short price.
4-Urban Renewal (5-1)-Has 6 wins this year but hasn't taken a picture in some time. Was cashing checks versus the $30k claimers at PcD and should fit here. The 10-year-old still has 1.50 speed when feeling it, should be a square price and could get a suck around trip.

Race 11 (10:30 PM EST)

1-Magritte (15-1)-This is only the 3rd start since mid-May, so the price reflects that status but has 4 wins in 8 starts at M1. Did get bet in last but had nothing. Will look for a price, likes to race on top and can get there if dialed on high. Does come right back in sequence and could make the most of the post draw at a big price.
5-Lovin On You (8-1)-Been racing from the back and this is the 3rd start at the meet. Will look for a more aggressive steer and could be in the hunt at the wire if in striking range at the top of the lane.
9-Photobombr Hanover (9/2)-This is the logical choice, beat this kind from post 9 last week. Gingras got the top off the gate and didn't look back. Certainly, could win again but the 9/2 morning line price seems wishful.

Race 12 (10:55 PM EST)

2-Nextroundsonme (10-1)-Bumped up to this class after 2 nice efforts and raced from the back from post 10 last week. Rallied to lose by <2 lengths and finished 5th. Will look for better with the post relief and the price is right to use.
7-Toccoa Falls (7/2)-Beat this kind in last after breaking stride in the previous start. Likes the track (26-6-4-3) and Zeron should be able to get the Engblom entry into striking again. Looks like a main player if minds its manners.
8-Donato Patriot K (8-1)-Tyler Buter takes over for Joe B and comes off 2 good tries at M1. Just missed at this level from post 9. Has won 33% of its races at the Big M and will hope the morning line price holds up.

Race 13 (11:20 PM EST)

1-Springsteen (5-1)-Did okay last time after missing a start and it was the 1st race back in town. Should be in the mix at the wire if moves forward off the last effort.
2-River Ness (8-1)-This 4-year-old has banked about $120,000 less than last year and drops to a spot for a picture. Gingras is between the pipes tonight, and this is about the same level as its last win at Philly back on 9-24 over a sloppy track.
5-Tyga Hanover (3-1)-Doesn't make a habit of winning but drops. This will be the 1st time for Dexter Dunn to steer and the 1st race at M1 since 7-15. Should enjoy the company and may have met a beatable field.
