Woodbine’s Thursday card boasts a mandatory payout in its approximately $113K (USD) carryover pick six. The 20-cent minimum wager begins in Race 3.
To assist your handicapping, selections provided by the 1/ST BET app measure each contender against the 10 leading factors for each race. The 1/ST BET app looks at 52 handicapping factors and more than 200,000 past races to determine its AI selections.
You can use the automated handicapping factors, or create your own factor filters to incorporate angles you prefer. Full-card selections can be found in the 1/ST BET app.
Race 3
#8 Mardene (23% Win Projection) 2-1 ML
Comments: Despite being a 16-race maiden, the big class drop here for Mardene might finally find the winning spot. A trio of other contenders here tied at 14% Win Projections next, the numbers say single or you’ll wind up spreading very thin.
Race 4
#3 Mi Tormenta (20% Win Projection) 8-1 ML
#11 I’ll Take the Gold (16% Win Projection) 5-1 ML
#7 Charlotte’s Silver (13% Win Projection) 6-1 ML
Comments: The top-2 morning line choices don’t get billing from the algorithm, but three medium prices have emerged to give some minor upset coverage.
Race 5
#8 Crimson Nights (23% Win Projection) 3-1 ML
Comments: There’s a big, 11-point gap in the Win Projections between Crimson Nights and anyone else, despite the top pick’s 0-12 career record. She’s knocked on the door, however, and may have found the right bunch. Next-best here is #4 Cherry Gardens 12% (9-2 ML), second in 3 of her last 4 starts, and then a huge cluster between 8-10%. Adding Cherry Gardens isn’t the worst idea, but the numbers suggest singling.
Race 6
#2 Colonel Mustard (22% Win Projection) 7-2 ML
#7 Leslie Chow (19% Win Projection) 3-1 ML
#3 Basketball Jones (16% Win Projection) 2-1 ML
Comments: It’s only a field size of 7, so many will narrow here. You could find value outside favorite, Basketball Jones, who has been beaten at 2-1 odds in two straight. But Colonel Mustard and Leslie Chow are only 2-for-31 lifetime combined, so they’re not obvious win machines.
Race 7
#8 Oheavens (27% Win Projection) 10-1 ML
Comments: Probably the boldest separator here from the 1/ST BET AI as it is Oheavens at a nice price and then a long, 12-point ways back to a cluster of contenders. The inside three are all between 13-15%, while there’s no love for the top two ML wagering choices.
Race 8
#5 T’pring (20% Win Projection) 3-1 ML
#13 Sweeping Passion (18% Win Projection) 8-1 ML
#11 Gunnawin (12% Win Projection) 6-1 ML
Comments: With a massive field of 14 in the main body, at the bottom-level maiden claiming ranks no less, comfort is in numbers. T’pring has been second in two straight, but winless in 24 starts. Sweeping Passion has been in the money in 4 of 8, a more appealing overall record. Inconsistent Gunnawin’s race two starts back might win this.
