The Meadowlands has a 14-race card set with the 0.50 Early Pick 4 starting in Race 6. The sequence has a $50,000 guaranteed pool with a 15% takeout, and it will be my focus.
Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.
Race 6 (8:25 PM EST)
2-San Domino A (7/2)-Came 2nd last time to Mickey Gee N who was dominate. Looking for a big try and a different set-up. The opening half was paced in 58.4 and this Burke trainee zipped the 2nd half in .56. Should be racing near the top of the stack once the wings fold.
8-Boiling Oar (2-1)-Flew home to pick up a win and now takes on better but still fits. Gets a positive driver change in Andrew McCarthy and should be in the mix down the lane.
Race 7 (8:50 PM EST)
2-Montana Storm N (6-1)-Beat cheaper then moved up to this level and was stuck with post 10. Has been competitive versus this kind and could get an efficient trip with this post draw. Using and could offer some value.
3-Always B Sweet (12-1)-Has been rolling home in fine fashion and has a win plus a close 2nd place finish to show for his efforts. Likes to stalk and come off cover and that trip could be the way to the winner's circle at a price.
6-American Classic (3-1)-Drops to a spot to shine and has 2 wins in 9 Big M races. The Burke barn has been on a nice roll over the last 30 days posting 27% winners. Cory Callahan may look to land on the point and make every call a winning one.
Race 8 (9:15 PM EST)
2-Love Your Work A (8-1)-Beat cheaper, moved up to this level and finished 6th. Looking for improvement and was pace compromised in last, did go the back 1/2 in 55.2. The key is Andrew McCarthy steers tonight and he knows how to win with the 6-year-old. Has good gate speed and this pilot should use it.
4-Beach Vibes (5-1)-Bumps up after a win in Philly and George Brennan gets the call and that can make a difference. Taking a swing Brennan gets the top or a pocket ride and is in the hunt at the wire.
6-Saranc Blue Chip (6-1)-Comes off an aggressive try at Yonkers versus better. Could get a close-up seat off the gate and should offer a nice price. Has hit the board in 4 of 7 at M1 and has taken 2 pictures.
Race 9 (9:40 PM EST)
6-My Pal Joe (10-1)-Found the winner's over too tough and drops to a more competitive level. This feels like a race to use some prices and should be in the mix with a smooth steer.
7-Blazing Banner N (12-1)-Comes off a good effort from post 6 at Yonkers being used a few times. Brennan takes the lines and has the gate speed to get a good early seat. Could surprise if near the leaders turning for the wire.
8-Brue Hanover (3-1)-Yonkers invader should be put in play off the gate. Will likely be bet and Callahan will probably have the pedal down. Might be really tough to tackle if gets an easy lead.
