Cal Expo has a 9-race card ready to roll and the 0.20 Pick 4 starts in Race 6. The sequence has a $25,000 guaranteed pool with a 16% takeout, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 6 (8:25 PM PST)

2-Watchmeneighneigh (9/2)-Comes off an even effort in last, that wasn't bad and was off over 2 weeks between starts. That's enough to give the veteran a shot at a suck-around trip and a chance for a picture, especially with James Kennedy getting the nod.
3-SB Prince Archie (8-1)-Dropped to this level and came 2nd but did finish well. Hasn't won at CalX but does fit and like the one above can get an efficient trip.
4-Cowboys Dirtyboots (15-1)-This is another who doesn't win as often as the seasons change. Draws well enough to get a smooth trip and that is needed for a picture. Was bottled up and gaped the leaders so will look for better at a big price.
8-Urkillinmesmalls (15-1)-This will be last price play, leaving the program favorite #5 out and the issue here will probably be the drive. Was used hard to get the lead as the 2 chalks were 1-2 and was hung. Will be a large price, and will need a smart drive to win. Not sure that will happen, but the trip should be better than last week.

Race 7 (8:45 PM PST)

3-Sweet Timber (9/2)-Raced well on 12-26 from post 8 and got on the point but faded to finish 2nd after some fast fractions. Had an issue on the first turn and not sure exactly why. Lackey came back 4 days later and did qualify nicely, might be sitting on a big try.
5-Seek And Destroy (12-1)-Team Goulet entry put in a good effort after breaking stride the previous race. Draws well, has been tossing hints and the price should be right to take a swing.
8-Fox Valley Sidecar (4-1)-Jacob Cutting left from post 1 and didn't look back to beat this kind last week. Fits well again and could double up with the right trip.

Race 8 (9:05 PM PST)

3-Editorial (15-1)-Set a new lifetime mark on 12-15 and then bumped up and had a no-move mile from post 8. Draws inside, Nick Roland steers and he could get on the engine or land in the pocket. Either trip could work for a picture if can down the program chalk.
5-JP Jetty (7/5)-This should be the winner unless the track is sloppy and that probably won't be the case. Will probably use as a single as well and has 7 wins in 18 CalX starts plus 6 second place finishes.

Race 9 (9:25 PM PST)

1-Worthy Opponent (3-1)-Needs to be close to the leader down the lane as was the case on 12-3. Came out of the pocket that night and took a picture. Svendsen can work a similar cozy trip from the rail.
6-Polar Storm (4-1)-Comes off a strong try leaving from the 7-hole. Worked hard and got the top but the trip took its toll. Roland is back to steer his own and may look for a different trip. Should be in the mix and could offer a square price.
