Northfield Park has 15 races to set to go with the $1.00 Late Pick 4 starting in Race 11. The sequence has a $10,000 guaranteed pool with a 14% takeout, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 11 (9:40 PM EST)

1-Hardt Hero (5/2)-Drew off in the last 2 races against this kind and doesn't have good gate speed. The rail may not help and that is the question mark. If Eric Tharps works a sharp steer, it could be a 3-peat.
2-Easy Cam Wiggle (4-1)-Comes off a win and has raced well in 2 straight against non-winners who could be claimed for $22,500. Lands in a nice spot to keep winning. Could get the top when the wings fold and not look back.
5-Barley Up (3-1)-Worked hard in the slop to get on the point and faded. Chris Lems could get a more efficient trip from the center of the gate and be in the hunt at the wire.

Race 12 (10:02 PM EST)

2-Dave And Dennis (7-1)-Drops to a competitive level, gets Luke Ebersole back in the bike and he is the usual pilot. Draws inside and can get a winning trip at a square price.
6-Paduka N (9/2)-Merriman sticks here instead of the program chalk #3 who he won with last time. The off-track record is 0-14 and 4 of the last 6 races have been on a wet track. The 1-15 record is a cause for pause but seems to be getting better and may finally get a dry track.

Race 13 (10:24 PM EST)

4-Mull Of Kintyre (7/2)-Claimed for $40k and now moves-up but does get a post edge on other players. Was racing in the Linville barn that was clicking and now lands in the Holzman barn that is also doing well. New connections could cash the top check at first asking.
5-Cyclone Banner N (6-1)-Recent form has been sharp and fits well with this company. This 9-time winner should be in the mix and is tough to pass on at the morning line price.
8-Night Shadow (3-1)-Burke trainee likes to get on the engine and that is an option despite the outside draw. Ronnie Wrenn could get a nice seat and then take command with a quarter pull. This 5-year-old has won 9 of 11 at Nfld and will respect chances tonight.

Race 14 (10:46 PM EST)

5-Meadowbrook Glider (5/2)-Raced at the Meadows on 12-29 and shipped here and raced on 1-1. Drew the 9-hole and wasn't able to close fast and was a well beaten 2nd but will overlook this start. Comes back versus the same kind, gets post relief, plus Merriman and should be a player.
6-Sizzling Sonata (15-1)-Will take a swing here with a horse who is 0-30 on an off-track and the last 2 have been on a wet surface. Has had excuses but raced reasonably well despite being used hard in last off the gate and getting stuck with post 9. Will look for Thompson to be aggressive again, could get a close-up seat and trip out for a rare win.
