There will be 14 races rolling tonight at the Meadowlands. The 0.50 Pick 4 begins in Race 8, it has a $50,000 guaranteed pool with a 15% takeout. That sequence will be my focus.

Last night, the posted Pick 4 at Cal Expo came apart in the opening leg when a #6 Winwonfordoug stormed home and nipped #1-Barbosa at the wire. The winner paid a whopping $139.40. The second leg was taken by the #8-Place At The Beach who lit up the board paying $58.40. The winning 0.20 Pick 4 combination of (6-8-5-7) paid an eye popping $33,644.80 Congratulations to the one winner.

Race 8
2-American Venture-Hasn't raced for real since 11/18, but qualifier at Big M on 12/22 deserves respect.
3-Mr D's Dragon-Usually in the hunt at this track and tonight may finally get first win.
4-Oh Johnny B Good N-Raced well in slop and now moves inside and could be sitting on a big try.
6-Windsong Jack-Came 3rd at 31-1 in the slop and now drops, best to respect.

Race 9
2-Art History-Going to discount last 2 on an off-track, with a top effort can win at a square price.
4-Machamillion N-Positive driver change in 2nd Big M start, taking a swing with Callahan at 15-1 in the ML.
6-Ponyta Boy-Drops out of Preferred Handicaps and looks to be in the mix tonight.

Race 10
2-Sir Machalot-Drops to a better level and figures to be a threat.
3-Calvin B-Just missed on the engine in last 2, now steps up. Will still consider versus this field and likes the track.
8-Sovereign Banner N-Lightly raced but game 6-year-old should be rolling down the stretch for Marcus Miller.
9-Meetyouatmidnight-Will respect chances off last effort from the 8 hole and Brett Miller steers again.

Race 11
4-Rock On The Hill-At a much better level, takes a good drop and gets a positive driver change.
5-Southern Pursuit N-10-1 in the ML and will use ahead of the #2 & #3 in 2nd Big M start.
