Hoosier Park has a competitive 12-race card. The 0.50 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 9, and it will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 9 (9:56 PM EST)

2-Gather Ye Rosebuds (6-1)-Comes off a big try to finish 2nd after being used into a 25.2 opening quarter. The fractions were hot, and it took its toll but was game to the wire. Should be a square price, likes to race at the top of the stack and can get there when the wings fold.
3-Sweet Tell (6-1)-This mare was even more game than the one above and had the same type of journey but was on the engine. Bumps up but should fit, gets a different pilot in Lewayne Miller and he has steered before.
5-Skyway Brittney (3-1)-Dropped to this level in last and was a beaten chalk. Was used to get on the point and faded down the lane. This time, Kyle Wilfong my look to work different trip and should be in the hunt at the wire.

Race 10 (10:18 PM EST)

5-Triathlon AS (2-1)-This mare is often close but hasn't been able to seal the deal and is only 1-7 on the year. Finished a close 2nd versus this kind last time. Might be best coming off cover and the short field could help chances. Brandon Bates can work that kind of trip and finish off the mile in winning fashion.

Race 11 (10:40 PM EST)

5-Walkin On Sunshine (5/2)-This will be the 3rd race since 11-24 and could be sitting on a big try. Drops to a softer spot after cashing checks versus better in the last 2 starts.
6-Patsville (2-1)-Booked 7 wins last year and banked over $108,000. Comes off a determined effort to finish 2nd and the beaten chalk has a good chance to make amends with a smooth trip.

Race 12 (11:02 PM EST)

3-Northern Rocks (9/2)-Came off the bench and put in tune-up mile against better in 155.3. Drops to a competitive level and should offer a solid price. Likes to win, had 10 pictures in 38 starts last year, and could book the first win of 2024 tonight.
8-Rockyraod Aldo (8-1)-Drops to the softest spot in a long time. Went the back half in 56.1, was paced compromised and finished a beaten 4th last time. Should relish the company and could surprise with a sharp steer.
