2.30 (9:30AM ET) – Albany Stakes (Group 3)
CLEMMIE
I am going for the Aidan O’Brien-trained Clemmie, who is Churchill’s sister. She started off her career very much like Churchill, very green first time out, but the penny seems to have dropped and is taking everything on board now and will improve.
3.05 (10:05AM ET) – King Edward VII Stakes (Group 2)
CALL TO MIND
Her Majesty the Queen’s horse won first time out this year at Newbury and then I felt he looked outpaced next time out at Newmarket, so stepping up to a mile and four is a wise move. The ground will be quicker here too which will suit. He looks a very relaxed and professional horse.
3.40 (10:40AM ET) – Commonwealth Cup (Group 1)
CARAVAGGIO – Bet of the day
There is a big field to take on the short-priced favourite but I just don’t think any of them will be good enough. Caravaggio has won five out of five and can win on any ground. He won the Coventry at Ascot last year and has never looked to have struggled in any race.
4.20 (11:20AM ET) – Coronation Stakes (Group 1)
WINTER
My third Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore selection of the day, Winter is a powerful filly and seems to have been transformed recently having won both the British and Irish 1,000 Guineas in May. I also think Tomyris could be an each-way selection here. She won a Listed race at York last time out, where she picked up from the back in a slowly-run race and the ground wasn’t in her favour that day which also bodes well.
