Setting the Scene

Royal Ascot kicks off Tuesday with four massive Group 1 or 2 races, including the race being dubbed the ‘Race of the Week,’ the Group 1 St. James’s Palace Stakes. For the first time since 2016, the winners of all three 2,000 Guineas – England (Notable Speech), France (Metropolitan) and Ireland (Rosallion) – will face off in this one-mile event. Add in two from Aidan O’Brien’s barn – Henry Longfellow and Breeders’ Cup winner Unquestionable – and this is not a race that should be missed. Familiar face Big Evs (Winner of last year’s Breeder’s Cup Juvenile Sprint) headlines the King Charles III. The action kicks off at 9:30AM ET, and all races are available on 1/ST BET and Xpressbet.

American Runners

The 2024 American contingent at Royal Ascot appears lighter than 2023, with only a single runner on opening day. Crimson Advocate is a 20/1 outsider in the Group 1 King Charles III (Race 3), where the three-year-old filly, now a member of John Gosden’s yard, will take on older horses. Last summer, she parlayed a victory in the inaugural running of Gulfstream’s Royal Palm Juvenile Fillies to a win in Royal Ascot’s Group 2 Queen Mary and was most recently seen winning the Roar Stakes on turf at Gulfstream Park.
