Hoosier Park has a 14-race card. The 0.50 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 11. The sequence has a $10,000 guaranteed pool, and it will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 11 (9:45PM ET)

2-Starlit Kissin JK (9/2)-Seems to do best by getting on the engine off the gate and should get that type of trip again. Fits well with this group and has won 4 of 17 at HoP. Ricky Macomber can work an efficient trip and is a double-up possibility.

7-Fred and Roz (4-1)-Drops to a soft spot after suffering a few breaks including interference breaks. Requalified nicely on 6-5 by wiring the field. Should be in the hunt at the wire with a clean trip.

8-Grigoriev (5/2)-Came the back half in a snappy 56.1 on a sloppy track. Drops after rallying off cover with a 27.3 last panel. Trace Tetrick sticks, needs a sharp steer but it's best to not overlook in this spot.

Race 12 (10:06PM ET)

2-Chandler Bing (5/2)-Raced well on the 1/2-mile track at Converse. Paced the back half in 57.4 and should get a cozy trip on the big track.

4-Vel A Tough Cookie (30-1)-This price shot broke at the start in the same race as the one above and still finished 3rd. Trace Tetrick gets the call tonight and looks worthy of a swing at a big mutuel.

5-Kirkland (2-1)-This freshman is 2 for 2 and drew off in the last race with a 57.2 back half. Looks like the one to beat and it will be interesting to see how the 2-year-old looks going down the long stretch.

Race 13 (10:27PM ET)

1-Nohelpneeded (8-1)-This will be a test, doesn't have the resume of others but comes off a nice win in the slop. Thinking this freshman won't be over bet and Tetrick can work a ground saving journey. Could trip out, and pop at a price if minds its manners.

7-Flirtnwiththepilot (3-1)-Team Wrenn entry has come off the bench with at best, even efforts in 2 races. That might be partly by design, and the wrapper could come off tonight. Looking for an aggressive try and has won 3 of 9 at Hoosier.

Race 14 (10:48PM ET)

1-JBS Cuppa Jo (9/2)-Broke its maiden with a convincing win at 4/5 on a sloppy track. Likes to race on top or close to it and Marvin Luna is in a good spot to work that type of trip. Steps-up and should offer a square price.

4-JD's King James (5-1)-Camera shy 3-year-old won and then jumped up to face better and seems to be improving. With this post draw Jordan Ross could work a ground saving trip and be a threat near the wire.

6-A New Endeavor (8/5)-The Charlie Stewart pupil has won 2 of its 3 starts and appears to be a cut above this crew. Could be a decent trip away from another picture.
