Yonkers Raceway has a 12-race card. The $1.00 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 9, and the sequence will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 9 (9:40 PM EST)

2-Madrid A (2-1)-The Shane Tritton entry has been racing well, ships back from Pocono and lands in a spot to post a win. Jason Bartlett takes the lines, should be aggressive off the gate and can be a main player.
4-Village Jade (3-1)-Showed some gate speed last time and got a good early seat. The last try was versus better, stayed inside and cashed a 3rd place check. Should get another cozy trip and could be in the hunt on the drop to this condition.

Race 10 (10:00 PM EST)

1-Okinawa Beach A (7/2)-Did win 4 back versus this kind but recent form has been dull. The last 2 races were on an off-track and did win the last start here from the rail. Bartlett gets the nod tonight, and this looks like an opportunity to be posing.
3-Cheryls Shadow (8-1)-Off-track record is 1-9 and has started on a wet surface in the last 2 races. Did perform well in the two previous starts, and fits with this group. Brent Holland posts 29% winner for the Dilloian barn. It is a small sample with that combo but is worth a swing at this price.

Race 11 (10:20 PM EST)

7-Hello Yes Hi (2-1)-Ships in from Philly off a good try to finish 2nd and faces a very beatable field. The Burke trainee has cashed checks versus better at Yonkers and beat much tougher in the spring. This is a soft bunch and off the last start appears to be ready to bring a top try. If that is the case, could take command early on and not look back.

Race 12 (10:40 PM EST)

5-Wild Ways (7/2)-Pocono shipper wins more than others and shouldn’t blush taking on this group. Has won 3 of 10 at Yonkers and should be there at the wire with a top effort. But is far from a lock and could be over bet.
6-Morning Edition (9/2)-Raced much better in the 2nd start at YR and comes back in sequence. Gets a positive driver change in George Brennan and the Erv Miller 4-year-old could be up to taking on older at a square price.
8-Donato Patriot K (6-1)-Drops and will look for Austin Siegelman to time the gate and blast out. If the start works out that should put the Joe B trainee in play. There isn’t anyone to fear in this crew and will look for a big try at a nice price.
