It's Sun Stakes Saturday at Pocono Downs and top 3-year-olds will be featured throughout the 14-race card. The 0.50 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 10. The sequence has a $15,000 guaranteed pool, and it will be my focus.

Race 10 (5:39 PM EST)
1-Sweet Gal (6-1)-This is the stablemate of the program chalk #2 Rocket Deo. The Brett Pelling pupil may not be as talented, but her recent form has been solid while being burdened with bad post draws. Comes off a nice win at the Meadows and was used a couple of times. Will look for a big try at a solid price.
2-Rocket Deo (5/2)-Winner of 7 races in 9 starts this year is as good as advertised and knows how to take pictures on smaller ovals. Has a perfect 3 for 3 record at PcD but this will be her 4th race in 22 days, otherwise it is hard to find a flaw.
3-Odds On Platinum (4-1)-There are a lot of nice fillies in this race and Ian Moore's pupil is no exception. Northern invader is also sharp as a tack and could offer some value if takes to the oval in its 1st Pocono appearance.
Race 11 (6:00 PM EST)
2-Elista Hanover (5/2)-Comes off a dud in the Hambo Oakes but according to trainer Anne Stoebe she came out of the race being sick. That happens and had been so good all year will need to use. Should be better than an odds-on tonight.
3-French Champagne (9/2)-Suffered an interference break and willing to toss the last start on a sloppy track. Should be good on the 5/8's, this post draw works and will be forwardly placed. Dexter Dunn will be in the bike and that should help. But still needs a top effort to beat this crew and might be over bet.
8-Warrawee Michelle (3-1)-Came off the bench with some issues but the last 2 starts indicate the Ake Svanstedt pupil is rounding into form. This is a tough group, the post will make it a challenge for sure. But should be a solid price, did win its last start, and the Walner filly banked over $478,000 in 2023.
Race 12 (6:21 PM EST)
3-Gem Quality (8-1)-Will look for a price just in case the morning line choice gets a very bumpy ride. Yannick Gingras has gate speed to use and the Chris Ryder trainee wins this year were both at Pocono. Should be a big price and could be a trip out candidate.
7-Legendary Hanover (2-1)-Winner of 3 straight has banked over $550,000 this year and now tries a smaller oval. James MacDonald will do the steering, and will trust the connections, there won't be an issue with this surface. With a fair trip the Tony Beaton colt should be tough to beat.
Race 13 (6:42 PM EST)
2-Amazing Catch (4-1)-Raced gamely in the Hambo to finish 3rd at 41-1 in the slop. Could be waking up and hopefully won't be bet hard. Did win its only race at PcD and can stalk and roll hard late. Using and will fade the 5/2 program chalk #5-T C I.
5-Security Protected (6-1)-Scott Zeron took the lines here on August 9th, drew off by over 6 lengths to win and now faces a tougher test. Likes to win, capturing 8 of 20 races. Could double up if Zeron can provide a smooth steer and the Marcus Melander pupil minds it manners.
6-Situationship (9/2)-Was used hard into a 26.3 opening quarter leaving from post 10 in the Hambo Elim. That trip ended poorly and has been off since. Could be overlooked at the windows and does have the gate speed to get a very good seat when the wings fold. Best to respect the team Svanstedt trainee.
