Hoosier Park will host a Black Friday 14-race card. The 0.50 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 11, and the sequence will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.
Race 11 (7:18 PM EST)
2-Jada Caroline (7/2)-The Erv Miller pupil posted a nice win on 11-22 coming off cover. This filly needs the right set-up to take another picture and there should be a quick pace in this affair. The chalk should leave from the 8-hole as well as Brandon Bates on the 4-Seaside Diva.
4-Seaside Diva (4-1)-Likes to race on the lead or near the top of the stack and that can be the case tonight. Has won 12 of 19 this year and should be in line for a smooth trip.
8-Lets Go Endofaera (8/5)-Was used hard off the gate and then was shuffled back but rallied late to miss by a neck coming 2nd to #2. Needs to be respected but will be a short price and starting outside doesn't help. Likes to win snagging 11 of 15 this year and John De Long can work an effective trip.
Race 12 (7:37 PM EST)
2-Noblesville (8/5)-Left from post 7 into a 26.2 opening quarter and landed in the pocket. Drew off on a "good" track and beat 3 from this field. Bates could work another cozy trip and should be able to handle this group at a small price.
Race 13 (7:56 PM EST)
1-Dale Yeah (7/2)-Just missed coming off cover in a couple of starts and then in the last race got on the engine and faded down the lane. That was the 3rd straight 2nd place finish and now Trace Tetrick is at the controls. The driver change could help and can land closer to the lead off the gate. Could be sitting on a big try at a fair price and has won 6 of 20 at HoP.
2-Play Action Pass (5-1)-Raced evenly from the back but was off 3 weeks between starts. May have met a beatable field and could be overlooked. Looking for a nice price and should be no worse than in the pocket when the wings fold and looks like a trip-out candidate.
Race 14 (8:19 PM EST)
1-Major Attribute (12-1)-Wins about as often as the seasons change. But drops to a more comfortable spot, draws the rail so should be closer to the leader when the wings fold. Could be rolling late if the pace is honest and the season will be changing soon.
2-Starlit Beachboy (3-1)-Raced at the top of the stack into a quick pace and could get a close-up seat here without draining the tank. Ricky Maccomber should be aggressive, may leave to get on the point and not look back.
3-Rockin Rebellion (8-1)-Shipped in from Dayton and was off a month before the last start. Has had issues but the price is right to use. De Long can work an efficient trip, and the 5-year-old has hit the board in 27 of 47 at HoP with 10 wins.
10-Smooth Baht A (9/2)-Trace Tetrick could get the Cullipher trainee off the gate into a good early seat. If so, there is no one in this field to fear and should be in the hunt at the wire.
