Yonkers Raceway has a 10-race card featuring the Blue Chip Matchmaker Final and the Borgata Pace Final. Those races are part of the $2 Late Pick 4 that starts in Race 7, and the sequence will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 7 (8:45 PM EDT)

1-Aardie B Miki N (6/5)-Comes into the Final with a perfect 4-4 record in Bluechip Matchmaker races. The price is what it is, and drawing the rail makes this a must use. Has the gate speed to get the top and knows how to finish off miles.
2-Walkin On Sunshine (4-1)-Got into the pocket from the 6-hole last time and finished behind the one above. Has the tactical speed to get the same trip and will need to find a way by the chalk. It won't be easy but if Miki loses this one has the best chance of taking a picture.

Race 8 (9:05 PM EDT)

1-Verdun (8-1)-Pat Lachance should have the fine veteran in striking range and will be pace dependent, but the fractions should be hot. If the speed falters the 5-year-old can roll by them all. Loves Yonkers (27-13-7-4) and when not winning is almost always in the hunt.
5-Mossdale Ben N (5/2)-Ben has won 7 of 9 at Yonkers and has never seen the top during the opening half mile. Super competitive 7-year-old has a pilot in Jordan Stratton that knows how tackle foes down the lane. Ben will probably race wide much of the mile but shouldn't be counted out.
8-Coaches Corner (4-1)-The post draw makes the price, and Jason Bartlett has no choice but to have the pedal down when the wings fold. Has the speed to land on top and could pull off an upset if its tank isn't drained in the opening quarter.

Race 9 (9:25 PM EDT)

4-Creative Venture (7/2)-Started slowly, 12 lengths back at the 1st call and rallied to finish 3rd. Drops and hasn't been in this cheap in a long time. Gets a new pilot in Brent Holland and it could be "go" time when the wings fold.
5-Haloa (4-1)-Ships in from Philly and raced evenly in the 1st race since 10-14. Bartlett steers the Engblom trainee in its Yonkers debut and will respect chances against a beatable field.

Race 10 (9:45 PM EDT)

3-Kairakiconfidntl N (5/2)-Was driven aggressively off the gate while facing $20k claimers in last. That wasn't the usual game plan and faded down the lane. This field doesn't appear more difficult and gets a positive driver change in Anthony Napolitano taking the lines. Comes back in sequence this time rather than 3 weeks between races and could be sitting on a big try.
7-Big Bettor Hanover (5-1)-Team Stratton entry makes the 2nd start off a claim. Was handled conservatively in last but did go a 57.1 back half. Should be better in the 2nd race on the oval and has the gate speed to be put in play early in the mile.
