The Meadowlands has a big 13-race card rolling tonight. The main event will be in Race 7, a Preferred Handicap Pace with a $20,000 purse. The 0.50 Pick 4 sequence starts in Race 8 and has a $50,000 guaranteed pool, a 15% takeout and it will be my focus.

Last night at the Big M drivers Andy Miller, Tyler Buter and Vincent Ginsburg led all pilots with three trips to the winner's circle. There wasn't a trainer credited with more than one win on the card.

At Cal Expo on Friday the track was rated "Good" and appeared to be a faster "Good". For those who used the horses in my sequence the ticket did connect as the 0.20 combination (2-3-1-1) paid $88.30. In the first two legs the exactas were part of the posted numbers. In Race 8 the 2-6 exacta paid $136.40, and in Race 9 the 3-4 exacta paid $35.40 on a $2 bet.

Race 8
2-Eveil Dun Champion-Just missed at 14-1 in last, will need some cover but best to respect.
3-Northern Assassin A-Battled for the lead in a hot pace, moves in and could be in better position.
7-Rocket J-2nd start for new connections and now adds Gingras, could be sitting on a big try.

Race 9
3-Johnny Q-Post relief and a fast track should help. A race back to 12/16 win will be tough to beat at 8-1 in ML.
5-Sir Machalot-In from Yonkers but not a stranger here, in form and fits with this crew.
6-Hug The Wind N-New Zealand bred makes U.S debut for sharp connections off a nice qualifier.

Race 10
2-Quality Bud-Back to a more comfortable spot and draws inside, should be in the hunt at a square price.
6-Dune Dude-First start in P. Harmon barn and if Marcus Miller can work a trip, value could be there.
7-Grave Dancer-Luke warm program chalk deserves some respect in this field, but hasn't won in a long time.

Race 11
5-Show Me Up-11-year-old still knows how to win and does well at Big M, worth a swing at 6-1 in the ML.
6-Ideal Shadow-Twice beaten favorite likes the engine and may get there without as much effort.
7-Every Intention-Thinking A. Naps could get a nice seat behind #5 and roll by late.
8-Dr C's Z Tam-Will consider off last from 9 hole in an open race. If pace is smoking chances go up.
