Al Cimaglia: Hoosier Park Late Pick 4 Analysis - Thursday, June 19, 2025

Hoosier Park has a 15-race card, and the 0.50 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 12. The sequence has a $10,000 guaranteed pool with a low 12% takeout, and it will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 12 (10:33PM ET)

4-Master Swan (9/2)-The field is camera shy but this 3-year-all may have found a group to beat. Has cashed small checks in stake events and Trace Tetrick should be aggressive when the wings fold.
8-Trump The Warrior (8-1)-Slow starter was able to catch the leader down the lane and now steps up. Should be a nice price and could be the best down the lane again if in striking range at the head of the stretch.
10-Ponda Bugatti (5-1)-Team Wrenn entry was bet down to 1/9, didn't disappoint and now steps up. The rail horse has some gate speed and could get sucked around and make one big move to roll by.

Race 13 (10:56PM ET)

6-General Grant (9/5)-The General has hit the board in 3 of 5 races at HoP but is winless, and is still 9/5 against this crew. This is the fastest horse, and it probably isn't close but is risky. Has broken stride in 1 race this year, but if not, should have his way with this bunch.

Race 14 (11:19 M ET)

1-Odds On Brahmastra (3-1)-Drops to a more comfortable level and drawing the rail could make a winning difference. Peter Wrenn can work an efficient trip and could take its 1st picture in 2025.
2-This JK Rocks (5/2)-This will be the 3rd start off the bench and did race better last week. The Erv Miller pupil also gets class relief and should be in the hunt in what could be a chalky race.

Race 15 (11:42PM ET)

1-Gullfaxi (6-1)-The Essig trainee has had issues this year, continues to drop and could be at the right level for success. Raced wide last week and tried but didn't have enough juice down the lane. Could get a smoother trip and keep coming to the wire.
5-Native's Filou (2-1)-East coast invader ships in from Ocean Downs and lands in the Tyler George barn. Not loving the small price but has good speed. Trace Tetrick can work a smooth trip and hopefully the veteran will like the long stretch.
10-Goodness Graycious (5-1)-Started from this post last time and was used off the gate to get a decent seat but faded later in the mile. Drops and John DeLong could follow the rail horse at the start. Needs a cozy trip to post an overdue win and that could happen at a solid price.
