The Meadowlands has a loaded 14-race card, and the 0.50 Early Pick 4 starts in Race 6. The sequence has a $50,000 guaranteed pool with a 15% takeout, and it will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 6 (8:25 PM EDT)

2-Coaches Corner (5-1)-Will take a swing with the Coach, who was stretched out at Wbsb in the Gold Cup but didn't get a good early seat. Landed in 7th off the gate 9 lengths back and then took the long way around. Jason Bartlett could be much closer to the top when the wings fold and should offer a solid price. The Coach doesn't show up at M1 often (3-1-0-1) but can be tough as nails with the right trip.
3-Abuckabett Hanover (3-1)-Stayed inside and couldn't go fast enough to catch the top 2 finishers in the Gold Cup. Let's review, started from post 8 and was used to land in the 3-hole, and did pace the back half in 52.4 with a 25.4 last panel. So, there is no reason to not respect chances for a picture here. Dexter Dunn is back in the bike and this oval has been very good to the Andrew Harris trainee (27-7-3-5).

Race 7 (8:50 PM EDT)

3-Travolta Hanover (6-1)-Loses Dexter Dunn to the Melander entry (4) but gets a very solid replacement in James MacDonald. On 6-13 left from post 9 and was hung the mile in the NJ Sires Stake Final. Still picked up a 4th place check and has done well at M1 (5-2-1-0). Will look for a square price and should be forwardly placed when the wings fold.
7-Nordic Catcher S (7/2)-Even money winner was used from post 9, landed in the pocket and captured the 1st start of the year. Handy 3-year-old should be in the hunt. This is 1 of 2 entries from the Svanstedt barn and they both could be main players.
9-Gap Kronos S (3-1)-Yannick Gingras is between the pipes and he has steered in the past. The 9-hole helps the price a good deal. This is the 3rd start this year and if the wrapper comes off could leave and get a decent early seat. The "other" Svanstedt pupil could grind its way around and be the best down the lane.

Race 8 (9:15 PM EDT)

5-Coach Stefanos (6-1)-Comes off a dull effort in the Gold Cup and the Erv Miller entry should offer a solid price. James MacDonald drives for the 2nd straight and could surprise. Has done well at M1 (6-2-1-0) and can be there at the wire with a smooth trip.
7-Bythemissal (5/2)-If this horse brings his best 5/2 will be a gift price. Comes off a 147.1 score at ScD and Gingras will be in the bike. Should be on the point early on and will play catch me if you can. The classy Burke trainee could be very difficult to tackle.

Race 9 (9:40 PM EDT)

3-Periculum (3-1)-The veteran banked over $821,000 last year and will be making only the 2nd start of the season. Won the Cutler in its season debut on 5/17 and was scratched sick on 6-6. This is the one to beat if doesn't need the race and did have a nice tune-up on 6-20 at the Big M.
4-Get A Wish DK (10-1)-Got an awful trip in last, now Todd McCarthy gets the call instead of Dexter Dunn and that could help the price. Beaten chalk will be a much better price and most likely won't be hung the mile.
9-Lexus Kody (4-1)-Comes off a 2nd place finish, had a bumpy trip and hadn't raced in the 3 weeks. Should be dialed on high and Gingras won't be sitting back. Will be heard from with a smooth journey.
