Northfield Park begins the week with a 15-race card. The $1.00 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 11. The sequence has a $10,000 guaranteed pool, and it will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 11 (9:40 PM EDT)

3-Sage Ivy (3-1)-Old timer gets some needed post relief and also drops to a more comfortable level. Gets a positive driver change in Aaron Merriman and he will be aggressive. If the Cory Kreiser trainee is dialed on high, he could be in control of this affair from start to finish.
9-Hill Of A Night (2-1)-The Renae Looney entry will likely be bet down as it faces easier. Dan Noble sticks and this is a beatable field if he gets through the opening turn in good shape.

Race 12 (10:02 PM EDT)

4-Sea Rose (7/2)-The field is full of horses who don't like to win but this 12-year-old still competes. Did win back on 8-20 and that was the last time in versus this kind. Merriman gets the nod, and he will be rolling hard off the car. This pilot has 2 wins in 5 drives for the Shane Webb Barn and will look for a big try.

Race 13 (10:24 PM EDT)

4-Bullvillespandemic (8-1)-Willing to toss last, took the long way around and the trip took its toll. Offers a nice price, has the gate speed to get the top, or land close to it and recent form has been good.
5-Greatest Ending (4-1)-Bumps up a couple of levels after wiring the field on 10-3. AMac should be out and rolling and could be joining #4 at the top of the stack. Will respect chances to offer a square price in a scattered field.
6-Silver Bentley (5-1)-Takes a good drop and lands in at a competitive level. Might be overlooked and this race could set-up for a closer. This is a spot to take an overdue picture.

Race 14 (10:46 PM EDT)

2-Blueberry Crush (7/2)-Likes an inside post draw and does good work racing near the top. Both could happen as Merriman is at the controls. Has won 3 of 7 starts at Nfld and can be in a position to add to that total.
4-Just A Pleasure (5-1)-This is the 2nd start on Lasix and was too far back at the half last time to make a difference. Won at this level on 8-31 with Chris Lems, who will steer again. The Tessa Lems trainee should be racing near the top off of the car. Might be overlooked and could pop at a price with an efficient trip.

$2 Late Pick 4
