Al Cimaglia: Meadowlands Late Pick 4 Analysis | Saturday, November 1, 2025

November 1, 2025

The Meadowlands has a 14-race card featuring the Kindergarten Series Finals for 2-year-olds. The 0.50 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 10, it has a $50,000 guaranteed pool with a 15% take out, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 10 (10:05 PM EDT)

2-Southwind Gendry (3-1)-Classy veteran comes off a sharp gate to wire score. Bumps up but knows how to dance with his kind and looks like a double up possibility.
3-El Rey (3-1)-Comes off a poor performance in the BC Final but was overmatched. Fits much better here and getting Dexter Dunn between the pipes won't hurt.
6-Borninlockdown GB (4-1)-Raced evenly in a needed start after shipping in from PcD. Draws well, comes right back in sequence, and has won 2 of 3 at M1. Scott Zeron should have the 5-year-old in a position to win turning for the wire.

Race 11 (10:30 PM EDT)

1-Car Keys (8-1)-Stayed inside and raced evenly in the 1st race since 9-12. Fits with this crew and gets a ++ driver change in Dexter Dunn. Will look for the Chris Ryder trainee to be forwardly placed throughout.
4-On Heir (4-1)-Took the long way around in the BC Final. Getting hung the mile sealed the fate of the longshot. Like the one above, should relish the company. Has won 2 of 3 at M1 and finished 2nd in the other start. Best to respect, AMac should work a cozy trip and be there at the wire.
6-Prtynproud Hanover (8-1)-Took 6-weeks off and put in an even effort against this kind. Will take a swing at this price. Gets a positive driver change in Yannick Gingras, and he posts 23% winners when steering for the Joe B barn.

Race 12 (10:55 PM EDT)

1-Ollie's Ztam (8-1)-Comes off a sharp gate to wire score now bumps up to the next TM level. Not sure how much the move up will matter against this crew. Should be a main player if comes back with the same kind of effort. Winning 3 straight is not out of the questions with a smooth steer.
6-Like A Shadow (4-1)-Won from the 10-hole then stepped up to face this kind and took the lead down the lane but faded to finish 2nd. Beaten chalk is only 1-19 this year and has only 1 win at M1 but that came 2 back. Should get a top of the stack trip again, this is 3rd race after a sick scratch, and recent form is too good to ignore.

Race 13 (11:20 PM EDT)

1-Ritchie Alpha (3-1)-Hasn't hit the board in 4 races at the Big M. But drops to a soft spot and gets a new set of hands in Yannick Gingras. The driver change could be a winning difference, and an aggressive steer should be coming.
8-JK Black Gold (5/2)-Jason Bartlett steers for trainer Jeff Cullipher. When those two combine it isn't always a picture taking opportunity, but they do post 45% winners. The 5-year-old knows how to win on a big track and has captured 3 of 12 at M1. Drops to a spot to shine and could be tough to beat with a smooth trip.
