Al Cimaglia: Yonkers Raceway Late Pick 4 Analysis | Monday, December 8, 2025

December 8, 2025

Yonkers Raceway has an 11-race card with the $1.00 Pick 5 rolling in Race 5. That sequence has a $10,000 guaranteed pool. The $2.00 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 8, and it will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 8 (9:05 PM EST)

2-Spring Inhis Step A (5/2)-Won 2 back off a close-up trip and pulled away down the lane. Last time was left at the gate as Redwood Hanover buzzed a fast opening quarter and the 8-year-old never really got involved leaving from the 5-hole. Will look for a better start and a 2-hole trip behind the choice Huntinthelastdolar could lead to a picture.
4-Huntinthelastdolar (7/5)-This millionaire has won 13 of 20 at YR and Jason Bartlett will leave and should be on top around the 1st turn. The race goes through the Per Engblom trainee who is looking for its 10th win in 28 starts this year.

Race 9 (9:25 PM EST)

1-Trendy Teen (8-1)-Will look for a price and fade Jason Bartlett on the 7/5 choice #2-Curly James. Team Stratton entry fits with this kind, has been 1st and 2nd eight times each this year, and seems to bring its A-game out when leaving from the inside. Will look for an honest pace with the #2 and #3 likely leaving. Jordan Stratton should be stalking close by and could be the best down the lane.
3-Jumpingjackmac N (5/2)-The 8-year-old has had only 13 starts this year and has hit the board in 10 of those races but has only 1 win. The picture came in the last start on a Good-track versus similar. Left from the rail and didn’t look back and will look for a similar path to success tonight.

Race 10 (9:45 PM EST)

2-Walkinshaw N (5/2)-Bartlett took over the driving duties last week and the Joe B entry wired the $30k claimers and made it look easier. This won't be as easy, it hasn't proved itself at this level but tonight might be the time. The pedal will be down and could make every call a winning one.
4-Speaker Of Peace (5-1)- Going to fade #5 Music Hall the 9/5 choice and will look for its 3-race win streak to end. Using the Lance Hudson entry, who knows how to dance with this kind and should be a square price. The fractions could be spicy, and Todd McCarthy has good tactical speed to work with. The 5-year-old could stalk and roll by down the lane.

Race 11 (10:05 PM EST)

2-Themaskedcrusader N (5/2)-The Per Engblom entry has finished 3rd in 3 straight against slightly better. Last time, it raced better than the line looks going the back half in 55.1. Bartlett needs to work the right trip, and this appears to be a beatable field.
5-Panettone Hanover (6-1)-Knows how to win against this kind and doesn't have to lead every step of the way to take a picture. Stratton has options with this post draw, could find a live cover flow and pass the leader down the lane.
