Northfield Park has a 15-race card and the $1.00 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 11. The sequence has a $10,000 guaranteed pool with a 14% takeout, and it will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 11 (9:40 PM EST)

1-Plays Pro (7-1)-The Kerry Merriman trainee hits the board in over half her starts and could be overlooked. Jason Thompson needs honest fractions and to be in range at the top of the lane.
4-Expresso Beans (4-1)-Has been stuck with the 10-hole in the last 2 that were at DTN. Aaron Merriman gets the call from the MacDonald barn for the 1st time, and this is the 1st start at Nfld. Does have 1/2-mile track experience at Flmd and should fit nicely.
6-Rising Fire (5-1)-Was way back last time and cashed a small check. But was engaged against the NW4 with Dan Noble steering and went gate to wire 2 back. Using the Cory Kreiser entry at this price and does good work at Nfld (14-4-1-1).

Race 12 (10:02 PM EST)

4-She Comes And Goes (7/5)-No one was beating Smoothastenesewisky last week, got the jump and drew off easily. But this mare was a clear-cut 2nd and probably no one in this field is going to stop the clock in 154.2 tonight. Not loving the short price but need to use.
5-Morning Miracle (15-1)-Should be a large number and tries. Braiden Rhoades needs to provide a sharp steer and to be in the picture late in the mile. Likes to roll late and could be in the hunt with an efficient trip.

Race 13 (10:24 PM EST)

4-Princess Stella (2-1)-Started from the 8-hole and worked to get on the engine but faded and that broke a 4-race win streak. Steps up to face Open company, this isn't a very deep field and shouldn't have an issue taking control early on.
5-Marlo Hanover (5-1)-Has been in the hunt with this kind on a regular basis. My take is Justine Irvine could be sitting the pocket all the way around.
9-Soft Shot (5/2)-This will be 2nd time for Lasix and raced well last week off not a great trip. Should be better here and if gets a good early seat could finish off this mile in winning fashion.

Race 14 (10:46 PM EST)

5-Maggie Time (3/2)-Finished 2nd in the 1st start for the Kreiser barn last week and missed a race before the last outing. Maggie was the 8/5 chalk and could reward backers this time. Should get a smooth steer from Merriman and get on the point without burning much gas.
