Northfield Park has a 15-race card. The $1.00 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 11. The sequence has a $10,000 guaranteed pool with a 14% takeout, and it will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 11 (9:40 PM EST)

1-Always B Elite N (9/2)-Went off as the chalk and got a wide trip at DTN. Now draws inside, gets a positive driver change in Ronnie Wrenn, and makes its Nfld debut. Has good 1/2-mile speed and could be in a spot to trip out.
8-Magic Four N (3-1)-Steps up after going gate to wire with Dan Noble at the controls. Could leave and duck, then win coming off cover. Needs some luck but the price should be right to take a swing.

Race 12 (10:02 PM EST)

1-Inquistive Dan (5/2)-Getting on the engine, or a top of the stack trip works well for this 6-year-old. There is no reason to think that type of trip isn't happening here. The Schillaci trainee does good work at Nfld (8-6-2-0) and is a main player at a small price.
8-Windsong Patriot (8-1)-The post makes the price and adds to the challenge. Will swing for a solid return just in case the one above doesn't have its fastball. Noble could get the most out of the 10-year-old.

Race 13 (10:24 PM EST)

6-Big Skewy N (8/5)-Drew off by a cumulative total of more than 11-lengths in the last 2 races. Beat 5 from this field in the last start. Should be posing for a picture with a similar effort as the last 2 races and will be another tiny price. Team Noble trainee knows how to string wins together.

Race 14 (10:46 PM EST)

2-Bismarkduplessis (7/5)-This is another team Noble entry, came off the bench and had the 8-hole, which didn't work well. Then was off for 2 weeks and had an even effort but was bet down. Takes a good drop in class, comes back in sequence and the wrapper should come off tonight.
4-Spiritshappyending (7/2)-Last year, as a 3-year-old the Tessa Lems pupil posted 12 wins in 27 starts and has 6 pictures in 14 races at Nfld. Hasn't showed much in the last 2 tries, but like the one above, this could be wake-up time.
