Al Cimaglia: Yonkers Raceway Late Pick 4 Analysis | Monday, February 16, 2026

Yonkers Raceway has a 10-race card with the $1.00 Pick 5 beginning in Race 5, and it has a $10,000 guaranteed pool. The $1.00 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 7, and it will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 7 (8:45 PM EST)

1-Night Hawk (7/2)-Was pulled up in the first race after the Holidays on 1-21 and requalified nicely on 2-5. On and off sort can dance with this kind. Ron Burke entry comes back 10 days after the qualifier with Yannick Gingras steering. Using from the rail at what should be a fair price.
3-Six Degrees (6-1)-The Adamczyk trainee has looked good coming off the bench and fits with this kind. Finished 2nd in races 2 and 3 back and then closed from the backfield to come 4th after leaving from post 8. Should offer a nice return and Colin Kelly can be aggressive off the gate. Looking for some value and will fade the 6/5 choice, Aardies Flash (4).

Race 8 (9:05 PM EST)

2-Mac’s Marvel (8-1)-Looking for a price in a competitive leg and Mac drops to a spot to shine. Hasn't been in this soft in quite a while. The 8-time winner in 2025 has also taken 6 pictures in 26 starts on the Hilltop. Team Lachance entry should get a good seat off the gate and be in the mix at the wire.
4-Typhoon Banner N (5-1)-This will be the 2nd start off the bench and cashed a 3rd place check against the same last week. Starts from the choice post and the old timer might be overlooked. Could post a win with a sharp steer if dialed on high.
6-Aye Aye Captain N (12-1)-The Ricky Bucci barn posts 16% winners off a layoff and that’s higher than his 11% batting average overall. The 2-6 qualifier was solid, made a couple of moves and lost by a head. In context, this is a soft spot and won 10 of 33 last year. Also, has 10 wins in 30 races at Yonkers. Could beat this group if ready to roll and hopefully the morning line price holds up.

Race 9 (9:25 PM EST)

3-Quote Me Not N (9/2)-Raced from the back in the first start since 12-27 and rallied to finish a good 3rd. Comes right back, Jason Bartlett sticks and should be much closer to the lead around the first turn.
5-Lyons Benjamin (4-1)-Raced big last week in the first start in the Adamczyk barn. The 5-year-old likes to win and does good work at Yonkers. Has 2nd-itis finishing in the runner up spot in the last 4 races. This will be the 4th start after Christmas and the 2nd straight steer for Colin Kelly. Starts inside of last week’s winner #6, Perfect Promises and could get the top and not look back this time.

Race 10 (9:45 PM EST)

2-Sinbad N (9/2)-Northfield shipper was winning and cashing checks versus Open company and lands in a competitive spot to be heard from. Starts inside, that should help Jim Marohn race near the top of the stack, and it could keep this veteran in the hunt at the wire.
3-Whats Stanley Got A (4-1)-The Stratton entry has been stuck outside in the last 2 starts. Usually, the steer for the veteran is more aggressive with an inside draw. Jordan Stratton could leave and win off a pocket trip.
8-Matai Phil N (10-1)-They went to the half in a tepid .58 in last and Phil rolled the back half in 55.2 to win by a head. The Abbatiello trainee can string wins together and has been in sharp form in the last 2 starts. My take is they get to the half faster than .58 and that should help this closer.
