Northfield Park has a 14-race card and the $1.00 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 11. The sequence has a $10,000 guaranteed pool with a low 14% takeout, and it will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 11 (9:40 PM EST)

4-Midwind Beach Boy (7-1)-Will take a swing and toss last with a bumpy trip on a snowy track. Came a nice 2nd two back versus this kind and AMac will be blasting out. Should get on the point or land in the pocket. Either trip could work for a win at a square price.
5-Moneyman Mikki (3/2)-Ran into a tiger last time and finished a distant 2nd against Open company. Many will single with the drop to face Open 2 horses, and easily beat them back on 2-1. Will respect but can't completely trust at a tiny price.

Race 12 (10:02 PM EST)

4-Stumpy (12-1)-Hasn't looked good in both recent races versus this kind but sandwiched in between was a win a level down. Braiden Rhodes takes the lines and could get sucked around. Should be a large price, and a fast track would help.
5-Disgruntled Carl (3-1)-Got the pocket on a snowy track and finished 2nd to the one below who went gate to wire. Missed a start before the last race and draws inside of the previous winner.
7-Spaaaazano (7/2)-Stepped up to this level and made every call a winning one leaving from the rail. This could be a bigger challenge but has never missed the board in 7 races at Nfld and posted 3 wins.

Race 13 (10:24 PM EST)

2-Belechick (6-1)-Drops, draws inside for the 1st time in a while, and gets a positive driver's change in Chris Lems. Should get a smooth trip and the price is right to use.
5-Club Scene (5/2)-Steps up after drawing off by >4 lengths. Draws well again and knows how to dance with this kind. Best to respect, does great work at Nfld (60-15-9-7).

Race 14 (10:46 PM EST)

3-Prince John (5-1)-Has been battling but starts slowly and leaves too much work to do. Beaten favorite is a threat if gets off the gate closer to the leader around the opening turn.
6-Grovy Joe (2-1)-Beat better last week and was Dq'd. Despite the ruling Aaron Merriman provided a skillful steer down the lane and it was a gutsy win. Will be tough to beat if comes back with the same effort.
