March 2, 2018

Cal Expo's Friday feature is in Race 2 when California bred 4-year-old trotters compete in Sire Stakes action for a share of a $6,500 purse. The 0.20 Pick 4 sequence begins in Race 8 and has a $30,000 guaranteed pool with a 16% takeout.

Comments and selections below for the Pick 4 are based on a fast track.

Race 8
4-Totally Racy-Drops like others, will respect connections. Private purchase and Plested has worked for a month.
5-Back Stock-Last was best effort in a while, Plano off but Hernandez may have picked up a live drive.
7-Yeswellnomaybe-Another dropper that figures to be a major player. Plano steers and trains, should be bet hard.
9-Sweet One-Drops to lowest level in quite some time and picks up Roland, could be sitting on a big try.

Race 9
2-Smash-Steps up after a win at 3/2. May have gained some confidence and is likely a square price.
3-Getter Queen Flush-Drops from Open company and should be in the mix versus this group at 6-1 in the ML.
5-Shesamysterytome-Beaten chalk last week in Opens, the company suits and should be well bet.
6-Directing Traffic-Can race on the engine or come from back. Plano sticks and was flying late from a tough spot.

Race 10
3-Mystery Dragon-Rough trip into a brisk pace from 8 hole, Kennedy should work a smoother journey from here.
5-Buzz Light-ML favorite figures to be in the hunt and Roland takes a seat which could make a big difference.
6-Crash And Burn-Beaten chalk needs the right pace and trip, will respect chances to get both.

Race 11
1-Soul Diva-This mare has issues as do the rest but can stay close to lead from here and get an overdue win.
2-Dickies Motel-Dick has made his way to the basement and best could be good enough versus this crew.
3-Rockin Repeat-Roland's choice looking for more pop and this could be the spot. Won here in 1:53.2 on 12/1.

4,5,7,9/2,3,5,6/3,5,6/1,2,3
Total Bet=$28.80
