Race 13 (4:45 PM EDT)
-Tactical Dynasty (2-1)-The Burke trainee was in the hunt versus this kind at the end of last year. Did have trouble sealing the deal but was on the board often. Tuned up with a sharp qualifier on 3-3 drawing off by over 5 lengths. Likes a top of the stack trip and Ronnie Wrenn can work that plan in the 1st start since 12-10.
-Mallard Hanover (5-1)-Eric Miller drives and trains the 8-year-old who just fell short against this kind on 3-6. This is a small barn who doesn't post many winners but will use at a square price against this crew. Could get sucked around, and with an efficient trip might pull off an upset at a solid price.
-Assiduous (8-1)-Aaron Merriman steered 3 back and finished 3rd in the 1st start on Lasix. Since then, has started from post 7 twice and put in no-move miles without Merriman at the controls. Merriman is back and when he drives for the Pirillo barn they post 27% winners. Should offer a square price and Lasix could make a difference with this post draw.
-Twofisteddrinker (10-1)-Would need everything to fall in place to post a win but did stay invlvolved to hit the board last time. Finished 4th two back and 3rd last time against this kind and will look for similar.
-Vandy Lane (8-1)-Makes it first start since 11-5 and won its qualifier on an-off track at Mea on 3-4. Before being put away, finished 2nd in 4 straight races, and today's pilot Chris Lems was between the pipes in 2 of those efforts. The Cox Barn posts 19% winners off a layoff and that is the same win rate he shows throughout the year. The 4-year-old should be in the mix and could boost the Pentafecta payout.
