Al Cimaglia: Yonkers Raceway Late Pick 4 Analysis | Monday, April 6, 2026

April 6, 2026

Yonkers Raceway begins the week with a 10-race card. The $1.00 Pick 5 has a $10,332 carryover which leads to a guaranteed pool of $25,000. The $1.00 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 7, and it will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 7 (8:45 PM EST)

2-Donegal Luther N (2-1)-Both races were very good since coming to town and last week connected with a strong gate to wire performance. This is a competitive affair, and the New Zealand invader could be just starting to get good.
3-Chase H Hanover (5/2)-Class showed in last. Was used a couple of times and got up to win at 17-1. That ship has sailed but doubling up could happen and should be racing with the leaders off the gate.
5-Twsted Destiny (3-1)-Comes off a 3rd place finish in the first race since 11-7. As usual Dexter Dunn steers for Chris Ryder and this will be the 4th race at YR. Last week was the only time it didn’t take a picture and the 4-yr-old could be sitting on a big try.

Race 8 (9:05 PM EST)

4-Be Dazzled Lou A (5/2)-Won 3 since being claimed by the Joe B barn, then dropped in for a tag and came 3rd racing from the backfield. Comes right back, gets some post relief and that can make a difference. Will look for the pedal to be down when the wings fold.
5-GDS Thunder GB (5-1)-Fits, comes back in sequence. Does do good work at YR hitting the board in 20 of 43 races with 8 wins. Should be in the mix and does have the gate speed to be put in play early.

Race 9 (9:25 PM EST)

2-Lucapelo A (5/2)-Raced big last week to get an overdue win and returns versus the same. Rallied from 4th, was not aided by quick fractions and did go the back half in .55 flat. Looks like a main player and Jordan Stratton could work a close up trip and be the best down the lane.
3-All Alone (4-1)-Moves up but still fits with a suspect group of $40k claimers. Is 0-4 this year but raced better last time after missing a start. Comes back in sequence and Gingras sticks. Should be racing close to the leader and could beat this crew off a stalking trip.

Race 10 (9:45 PM EST)

2-Soho Dow Jones A (8/5)-Recent form has been dull and now drops to a spot to shine. This is wake up time and Jason Bartlett gets the call. When the Dilloian barn and Bartlett team up they post 42% winners.
3-Sweethomealabama N (5-1)-Has been facing tougher and only able to cash small checks. In the last 2 start had posts 7 & 8. Gets post relief, faces easier, and the barn's #1 driver Jordan Stratton gets the assignment.
