Yonkers Raceway has a 10-race card with the $1.00 Pick 5 rolling in Race 5. That sequence has a $10,000 guaranteed pool. The $1.00 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 7, and it will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 7 (8:45 PM EDT)

2-Topville Somebeach (9/2)-Will fade #1 Overthinking the 2-1 ML chalk and look for a solid price with this veteran in the first start off a claim for the DiDomenico barn. Faded last time after coming 1st over. Now, Jim Marohn can land on the point and control the mile.
5-Lyrical Genius A (8-1)-Price shot came 2nd to the $40k claimers 2 back and now drops. Tried to go gate to wire that night and then drew the 8-hole last week. Gingras should be out and rolling, and a 2-hole trip could work for a picture.

Race 8 (9:05 PM EDT)

4-Rocket City A (7/2)-Put in a decent US start in a needed race, comes right back, and gets class relief. Did come the 2nd half in 56.1 but was raced from the back. Pat Lachance can be more aggressive after a start on the oval.
5-Diego N (3-1)-Broke stride and lost all chance at PcD. Ships back and lands in a soft spot. Should be a main player if comes with a top effort.

Race 9 (9:25 PM EDT)

4-Typhoon Banner N (7/2)-The 10-yr-old cranked it up and stopped the clock in 150.3 after leaving from the 7 hole at M1. Does know how to win at YR and can show big speed when right. Will look for another strong race and can offer a fair price.
6-Sterling Choice (2-1)--Beat similar 2 back with Jason Bartlett at the controls and then shipped to PcD.
Came 3rd versus W/O and lands back at Yonkers in a winnable race. Has won 7 of 8 on the Hilltop and will respect chances of another picture at a small price.

Race 10 (9:45 PM EDT)

2-Long Shot Buckets (9/2)-Joe B has steered in the last 2 starts and the improvement is noticeable. Won 2 back in 153.4 and then was a beaten 2nd to Shine A Light who won in the same 153.4. The chalk will be tough but if it doesn't have its fastball the 4-year-old could be posing.
5-Shine A light (4/5)-Winner of 5 straight has used the $15k claimers as an ATM. Bartlett will have the pedal down and go as fast for as far as he can.
